how rare is Dakar yellow on an e46???

so thi car iv just bought is a 2004 m3. the car has xenons, factory csl rims, sunroof, and half leather, half cloth i guess, and the car is dakar yellow. NOT PHEONIX YELLOW. i hate when people tell me they never made a dakar e46 because my car is proof. i live in jersey, are there any other dakar yellow e46 m3's in new jersey?????

there is another one in New Jersey. my buddy also has a Dakar Yellow E46 M3 with the same interior but no sunroof. it's an extremely rare color to have on the E46 M3 and it is probably one of the best colors on that car in my opinion.

While I like Dakar on the E36 - IMO the color isn't optimal on the E46 lines. I think BMW went with a darker yellow (PY - which is an acquired taste to say the least) to get a color that went with the rounder E46 lines.

yes its an individual package car and under the hood it does infact say DAKAR

I'd like to see a few photos of a DY E46 M3. That color is about as "extreme" as they get as a factory option.... and I like it.

Not sure why all my M3s are boring white, silver and black. Oh, my parts E30 M3 was repainted Dakar.

I like Dakar as well. And as stated before, it looked lovely on the E36 frame. I'd like to see the color sprayed on the E46.

woah!!??! i've never seen a dy e46 M.. that'd be the first. If i had to choose between yellows i'd rather have the py though. nontheless.. this thread was very interesting!!

Although certain cars can pull of any yellow, the M3 cannot. It just looks so much meaner in White/black/blue etc..

Saw a Darkar E46 the other day leaving work. Northern VA. Caught up to the guy and asked him how he got that color and indeed he responded, "it was the individual paint program when buying the car brand new."

I love Dakar yellow on the E46 M. It is very rare. Special order via BMW's Individual program I believe. I've only seen two in person and that at Bimmerfest/Mfest.

Pardon my stupidity, but I'm curious as to what the holes in the bumper are for? Sensors of some sort?
