I am getting pretty darn frustrated. I have a 2001 750il. I replaced the transmission and torque converter. The old TC and old Tranny both were having issues. The car was tripping codes over and over for excessive TC slippage.
I had a used tranny/torque converter installed and had them flushed correctly by a very good BMW mechanic. Well--almost immediately the car started throwing codes for excessive TC slippage again. I have driven it like that for the last 1,000 miles--the problem is that is triggers the check engine light to come on.
I know I can get a rebuilt TC for $400, but that involves another $400 to $500 in labor to pull the tranny.
Any other options?
Eric
Did you clear the adaptation values after replacing the tranny?
Not sure--can explain what the adaptation valves are?
Maybe theres an issue with coding. PM Edwin he will probably be able to.
Running on all 8 cylinders once again!
Adaptation values are stored by the transmission module. They are the "Learned" values based upon your driving style and the transmissions use.
They can only be cleared by BMW software that I know of....

Also answered your PM.
Have the dealer do an EGS software update that should wipe all the data
Have a technical question, don't send me a PM but post it on the board so others can benefit from it!
