    2011 335d Msport on the way!!! W00T!

Been a year since I had a BMW. I'm returning after owning an EVO IX for a year. Wish I could have both, but its too expensive.

    Anyhoo.....

Just confirmed my order for a 2011 335d Lemans Blue MSport. The deal was too good to pass up as I got $7500 off of MSRP of $49,250 plus free tint!

My only option was MSport and the paddles on the steering wheel since I prefer leatherette and the 335d has xenons and sunroof as standard equipment!

Ill post pics when I get it.

What is the difference between M sport & the standard sport on a 335d?

How come the PDC is rear only? Must have something to do with th styling.

Make sure you post pics of the Shadowline exterior trim.

I think my speed limiter non m sport) is 150mph. I wonder what the m sport limit is?

I got $4500 off on mine. $7500 off! $900 tax credit. Great deal!

i think everyone gets $4500 as BMW eco credit as well as $900 tax credit from IRS when you file taxes. what other discounts you got? was $7500 an additional discount or was it total (4900+900+?)?

    MSRP - $4500 - $3000(dealer markdown) = Final Price -$900 Tax Credit

So yes the $4500 was given regardless, but you still have the usual negotiations with the $tealer to factor in.

One dealer even offered me $3250 after they heard I signed the papers with another dealer, but I turned them down since in the end their TTL fees had $180 hidden in it.

So lets just say for a little over $40k I got a brand new 2011 335d MSport. that listed at $49250.

Now I have 8-10 weeks to sell my EVO!

Reminds me of when you could get a E46 ZHP for $6500+ off MSRP when they were rolling out the E90s.

I just ordered my 335d. It has premium, cold weather, ipod, sat, and Nav. I decided to lease. I almost bought an 2010 with M package, and all the goodies. The car had a 55k msrp for 42k with only 1k miles. I don't want to own this car after the warranty has expired.

    I drove a 335i awd and a 135i. I'm addicted to the torque in the 335d.

I would second that. Although I didn't drive the 135, I did drive 328, 335i and various forms of them (sport, non-sport, etc) and the torque of the 'd' had me hooked. The 'i' definitely has a better exhaust note, but I'll take the 50% better fuel economy over sound any day.

The D isn't for everyone. I've seen a few on the market with very low miles. I guess some people don't like the smell of diesel, waiting for pumps, and not having it offered at every filling station. I personally don't care about those issues or I wouldn't have bought one but I know what I'm getting into.

Is there a new car break-in for diesels?

Yes, same exact proceedure as for gas. However, since 80 mph is only 2K rpm, you can cruise at insane speeds and keep it under 4500 rpm. I changed my oil at 2K miles - YMMV.

IME, the 335d gets 5-6 mpg better than my son's 335i - but we're both mild drivers. Not to say we don't get on it ... and my 335d always seems to end up 100 yards ahead of everyone else from stoplights.

According to the manual, for the diesel they recommend less than 3500RPM and less than 150km/hr (93mph) for the 1st 2000km or 1200miles + avoid full throttle or AT kickdown during that time.

My memory and/or fingers failed me - I think you're probably right on the 3500 figure. I also figure you've got the manual for your new car right there, reading it cover to cover...

Correct . Still working through it, I read a bit whenever I have some spare time. Nothing like discovering a new feature you did not know about .
