    Some Boost Gauge Questions

There are a few things I want in a boost gauge and so far the only way I can get it is if I special order it from a Wika distributor and wait 44 days (the wait isn't a problem actually).

    Requests of the gauge:
    • -30"-0-30psi (I like being able to see vac, shows me if there is a leak in the system. I'm never going to go over 30psi)
    • Drag Pointer, Max Indicator, Tell Tale (It's called a lot of things but I want a gauge that tells me where the boost got to without looking at it)
    • <$150

WIKA says they make it in a 213.53 2.5" -30"-30psi wDP gauge so I know I can get it, and they say that it's around $60 MSRP so I might just go that route.

Any ideas, recommendations, or interest if I end up having to buy several of these?

I have a SPEK boost gauge that has a lot of features. I think I paid $115, which was a good deal considering the quality of the sensor, etc.

It's a 30 to 30 gauge and will record LOW and HIGH. You can also set a PEAK and it will alert you if you boost past the set point. For better or worse, they use them in NASCAR. It's got several backlight colors as well.

I only know of one good source for them right now. I'm not sure why that is, but it's a very good gauge.

NASCAR is naturally aspirated, why do they use boost gauges? Or does the company just make gauges that NASCAR uses other than a boost gauge?

It's a pretty cool gauge, a little "elektronix" for me but whatever. It's also pretty 'spensive, can only find it for $250.

Autometer 5577 and 5677 do it but they are both more than $200

OK I just ordered a small batch run of a WIKA gauge 213.53 -30" to 30PSI white face, rear mount with a drag pointer, liquid filled.

    Anyone want one? $50.

If you need a source for the SPEK boost gauge, I think they are still available for $115 shipped.

The SPEK gauge also has a built in programmable output relay to activate things like an aux fan or secondary fuel pump, intercooler sprayer, etc (up to 20 amps). It uses a very nice quality pressure transducer from SSI and has a plug-n-play harness.

Finally got a pair of these in. They are $30 at McMaster but that's without a drag pointer. No one (According to wika) carries any of the gauges with drags, they all have to be specially made. I've got one extra if anyone want's it for $50.

Sorry for the shitty cellphone pictures.

Just a standard port on the rear?

Rear is a 1/4" NTP, centered. 1.5% accuracy.
