Drove through a horrendous thunderstorm about a week or so ago, and developed a CEL the next day upon start up. Didn't think anything of it, figured something was wet and needed to dry out. Well the car has been running rich since then. The idle is rough on occasion. Still drives "normally" as in it accelerates and has power. It's not going into limp mode, just running extremely rich. With the car on, I can disconnect the MAF sensor and nothing changes, so that makes me think that is mad. I took it out and cleaned it, but was unable to run the Bentley prescribed tests because I couldn't figure out which pins they were referring to.
I searched, but came up with mostly cars not starting, or stalling alot.
I should probably also mention that it is the oversized Dinan MAF sensor.
Any ideas?
TIA,
Josh

The CEL doesn't come on if the car is running and you unplug it?
----Dave----
Pin 3 is battery voltage
Pin 1 is gnd
Should have one pin to DME that should be between 0-5VDC
Pins measured at 5 and 6 should read 3-4 ohms
Last pin cannot recall
Since this is a Dinan not sure pin out is correct but the signals should be able to be read
Bentley manual pages 130-17-20
Yes check engine light has been on the whole time. That's how I was able to figure out what code it was throwing. Nothing happens when I unplug the MAF, so I think it's already taking that input out of the A/F mixture equation. The CEL doesn't come on if the car is running and you unplug it?
Yeah, I went through the Bentley, but the explanation of what pin was where was not very good. Where does Pin 1 start and are they sequential in a clockwise motion? or just random.Pin 3 is battery voltage

I think I'm gonna check for vacuum leaks next.

Checked for vacuum leaks and didn't find any. Idle seems to be worse after the car has a chance to warm up.
Anyone have a better explanation of the pin configuration to check for voltage tolerances?
