And we always will be, the damage was my fault and it is my responiblity to pay to have it fixed.
I can't be mad at him, but he sure could be made at me though. He had to drive it home, in a condition I put it in.
He took the situation very well, I don't think anybody on the club or at the meet would have took it as well as he did.
I am regretful and very sorry I did it.
Just like he said, lets move and get it fix and keep it rolling .
Why didn't you have Ed to code it for it not to happen?

Software.
There is a list of "options" on the car. If the car does not have the "6 speed manual gearbox" option in that list, then the car will not accept any changes to the LKM or IKE in regards to 6 speed. But the "key" to add that option isn't easy to figure out.
At least, that's how I understand it. Edwin can correct me if I'm wrong.

So an update to njdjh2o`s and my situation...
Car was in at the indy today, they replaced the relay which was fried, but it was still blowing a fuse.
Aux fan - 50amp fuse was blown, along with CEL code of "aux. fan circuit". Changing the fuse only wasted one, the short was comming from the aux fan itself. In order to fix the issue, the aux fan had to be replaced due to the circut board itself getting fried. Replaced the entire aux fan unit, problem fixed.
Hopefully.

Well lets see, I joined here in Mar 2003 and posted all the time. Then somewhere around Aug of 2007 I started cutting back somewhat.
But I am not implying you joining around the same time is connected in any way.
Or am I?
;-)
I try (hard) to avoid the radar altogether

Transfailsafe can be turned off easy dude! I did it on baby!
Have a technical question, don't send me a PM but post it on the board so others can benefit from it!
Something still does not add up. I don't mean to stoke the flames as you guys have settled this with great judgment and decency. I am just trying to understand the root cause here with the auxiliary fan. If one fan was already defective, how come it did not damage components of its own circuit. See guys my fan does not work but i use the AC all the time on the highway and it does not cause any smoke etc. Just wondering if i should stop using the AC since all of this can happen.
shak. g
Yeah but I need to add that "option" using NCS first, right?
I'm getting a new laptop on Monday and a better interface in a week or two, so I'll finally be able to do some coding.
You can keep using AC, the problem came from connecting two different cars together.
Yeah, the problem wasn't that we connected to each other's aux fans (my power, his fan), the problem was that his car was started instead of mine, once connected.
So his car sent a huge voltage spike to my car, gave me multiple Trans failsafe prog's, fried my relay for my aux. fan and electric fan and fried some wiring that in turn fried my aux. fan when a new relay was connected.
The fix was a new relay, wiring and aux. fan.
