    You can do the heater core without removing the whole dash, that includes the steering wheel.

    Thanks for this thread guys, it has been very helpful! Just pulled my dash out trying to fix an issue with the air flow. I would just say that it is NOT at all necessary to remove the steering wheel to get the dash out, just removing the two bolts holding up the steering column allowed it to lower enough to remove the dash.

    Unfortunately, I have this in my future as my dash has developed a crack on the passenger side above the glove box/air bag area. I am not looking forward to it.
