Installed fuel pump, accumulator, filter, rubber hoses and tanks today. Then put some gas in and started it up for the first time in a month.
wash it, drive it, stuck in mud, refuel, stoped by cops, wash it.
Mine got abducted by a probe stuck in it's tail pipe today.

I touched it and wished i could have worked on the rebuild today.
Finally got my Goodridge stainless brake lines in the mail, installed all rear brake lines.

Installed my new clear turn signals from Wallace and Nesch last night. Only two wires, single filament orange bulb.... original lights had three with a double filament clear bulb. So I have turn signals, but no front parking/running lights. Now I just have to test and see if I have the haz...... oh s*@#&!

tom, can you change the US socket/bulb into the euro fixtures?

I was thinking about trying that but.... the euro lens only fits on the euro housing because of the attachment positions.... the euro housing only has two plugs to attach wiring to, the US housing has three... the US wiring is three wire, the Euro is only two.
I suppose if the whole Euro socket can be replaced with the US one... in the euro housing... then you could use the US wiring into the US socket in the euro housing. The lens would fit and you should have the US functions. You would then need a different orange bulb with a double filament to get both turn signal/ hazard and parking/running lights.
The bottom line is if the sockets can be swapped out then it should be doable. I haven't looked at that yet... I didn't really notice how they are attached to the housing.
I am enjoying the clear lenses... and I am not sure that the parking lights are really necessary. I never use parking lights anyway... CT has no vehicle inspections, and I am not sure they would be required by DMV.
What I DO notice is that, with the new clear lenses, I dislike the look of the US diving board bumpers with the orange side reflectors more than ever. I may have to move up my schedule to do either the bumper tuck or replace with Euro bumpers. It will be a remarkably cleaner look.... the way it was designed to look.

A few weeks ago, my right driving light burnt out. So instead of just going to buy another one , I figured it was a good time to try something fun. Tonight I finally was able to wire in my Halos. It took a couple days of trying since I kept running into more things that I found I needed...like a saw (who knew?) For someone like myself who is both mechanically and electrically declined, this is a major achievement. Hell, I even had to use a hack saw to make the new bulb fit into the steel housing. So when I reconnected the battery and it all actually worked like I wired it to... The blue halo goes nice with my car I think.
Not sure what to do to her next. Maybe some spinners? Eh, eh? lol j/k But I am thinking about taking off that diving board. Anybody got a nice Euro bumper lying around?
^^ look good, but why do your Turn signals also come on?
......... 3.8L V6 + T04Z + 15psi + e85 = 500rwhp - 10sec 1/4 mile - Hopefully .........
Not turn signals, running lights. The turn signals do work normally, but the halos are wired into those yellow markers. And no, the halos don't blink when the turn signal is on. They're the first stop on the pull out for the headlights. And they can stay on when you pull the key out but the headlights will shut off.
I could try to wire them into the ignition so they're on when the car is on and those yellow lights wouldn't have to be, but I don't know how to do that. This was my first experiment with the electrical system of anything, so I'm just happy I didn't shock myself or blow the computer or something. Just think it's a neat look.
i did this today...
I love you warning sign, Its like a "wet paint" sign. "Oh is it" says the by stander as he slices his finger off on your razor sharp fender.

had to press a bushing back in for the upper rear shock that blew out on a nasty pothole. Now I'm going to the historic races.
jester,
if you see a green sauber c4 sports racer with a artichoke painted on the hood. his name is brian, very good friend of mine. stop in and say hi. he'll fill you in on his one of a kind, built by peter sauber racer. also tom will be there with him. not sure what car he will be bringing. he cooked the BMW m12 engine in his lola last week.

Oh. Flares!
I thought those were intended for the competition's tires.
Rubbin' is racin', right?

installed new stock front rotors. no more pulsating brakes.
Finally finished Volvo brake caliper upgrade with EBC Greenstuff pads! Also fitted a wonder bar between front ARB mounts, 2.7:1 ratio steering rack and KMac adjustable top mounts. Just leaves a couple of days to bed brakes in before track-day on Friday.
Also bought a sweet 2.7 with dyno sheet showing 198bhp running K-jet! Should easily make 210 once fit Motronic. Hope to fit it next month.
On the way home from work I started hearing a whine from the engine, I thought, here we go again, another high dollar fix. I checked the engine and I found the air box snorkle wedged against the alternator belt slowly melting away. At least it was an easy fix, and no cost either.
Took my first stab at a valve adjustment. I guess adjusting BMW bikes over the years gave me practice. It's still just as loud...just sounds 'different'. Maybe less vibration, over all.
