YES! Makes sense now. I learned to drive on gravel roads and had a lot of fun fishtailing Chevettes and doing cookies in Rabbits and whatever we had. Ford Festiva was actually pretty good as long as there was snow.

The stock E21 has always seemed pretty manageable and predictable whenever I've wanted to make it go sideways. After 9 years of driving on stock suspension and feeling like I really know the car, it's very interesting to be dealing with a new set of parameters.

I drove it to work and back. Rolled into the throttle once and spun em through 2nd, and putted the rest of the way. Very therapeutic.

And your clutch is now sticking. Huh, weird.

I looked at mine in the garage again today. Was going to take it to work today, but chickened out bc I was just as pissed off this morning as I was last night & I knew I'd pull a Josh & break something, probably spin a driveshaft, that would be something new & exciting.

Wow, that first explanation of oversteer/understeer looked like something I would have written... no wonder all my friends ignore me after the second sentence...

Susan, by the time you get back from our Noon-2-Noon here in a few weeks, you'll have your suspension feel all sorted out.

Hey! Most of the time it's fine, it's only an occasional problem with disengaging and that doesn't keep me from have a little fun. And for the record, I (me, personally) haven't broken anything on my car for almost as long as I can remember. I have yet to break a driveline component other than my clutch pressure plate, and both of those were due to someone else driving my car like a blind gorilla.

You don't really break stuff gently rolling into the throttle. I can be putting along in 2nd and as soon as the turbo spools... whooopieee!!

The car HAULS A$$ above 1500 rpm. It's under that where the tweeking continues...

I think I might recommend to someone looking to make the conversion that having the single DCOE 45 with racetep's new intake manifold would be the way to go.

Seems like most of my effort is spent balancing the two carbs, not tuning each one.

I dusted mine off and went to the thursday street rod meet where an 81 is the new car .... After 8059.0 miles of driving the E-21 in May and fairly lousy weather I havn't been motivated to drive it.

I didn't even wash off the 2 million+ dead bugs until last sunday (followed by a nice glaze and more wax (ok I use a polimer not a wax)), my garage was starting to smell bad from the smell of rotting bugs. I did drive it monday when I took my son for the day and went to the movies and mcdonalds, he had fun, he likes the baur.

Today my son walked in the garage in rubbed the hood (much like I do) and said oh Shiney with a big smile. You have to love a three year old.

I cant believe that you have never broken anything JR, how do you recon your diff will hold up with your planed 300hp?

I don't know how. I beat on it, but carefully... Usually traction is broken before the turbo spools (like if I launch the car in 1st), or it's a gradual rise in power when I mat it and the turbo spools. I don't power shift it.

I'm planning for more like 350+ hp. An e12 or e30 diff is also planned for when I get to the point of building that motor which is WAY down the road for me.

I pulled the shift knob off JRCook320's car, does that count as breaking it???

yes. Actually, that has happened to me several times. I just need to buy a new shift knob...

Oh yeah, in the spirit of this thread, last night I put stainless screws in my turn signal lenses cause the ones that came with the euro clears were starting to rust.

I also grumbled as I wiped the oil off my timing cover, oil pan, side of my block, subframe and steering rack. I re-gasketted all that stuff last spring cause I had a slow leak somewhere, and it's leaking again.

I then reverse bled my clutch, did some repeatability testing and adjusted my pedal stop. So far it feels much better. I hate brake fluid.

I was introduced to oversteer/understeer very early in my driving experience. I learned to drive in Minnesota and during the winter oversteer and understeer were recreational pursuits and, sometimes, a matter of survival!

Well it's nice to see that neither M10 or SBC gasket technology has gone anywhere since the 70s. The front of my oil pan leaks

Sample size? Standard deviation? CP? Did you do an MSA on your measurement system to prove it was capable before you collected data? Joking aside, I assume it was repeatable after the re-bleed? Did you measure before you re-bled?
