I found this among some papers, couple these with torque in torque tables and no nut and bolt torque is a mystery. Note 8.8,10.9 and 12.9 steel alloy grades differ in torque tolerance with 12.9 top of the list, aluminum threads and so forth torque is much much less.

Did some more work to the Runabout this week. I finished R&Ring the half shafts and installed the resealed and upgraded 3.91 LSD for testing. also got the engine, tranny and drive shaft installed.
Because I lowered the rear subframe in the car I also lengthened the rear diff hanger to match the drop.

is it alright that I refer to that as the "pretzel" header? or would you prefer "the riddler" header? dig it
Did a 6 mo minor-tuneup, adjusted the valves, set the timing and idle speed and set the Air/Fuel Mixture, checked the alternator output +14.3V, week ago changed the oil and oil filter(Wix).

Did some more engine adjustments Timing the biggy and drive the RunAbout for the first time in four weeks.
Also the first time with the new front struts inserts and new springs all the way around. Thinking I will lower it about 3/4" to 1 1/4" so the suspension has more droop for the rough dirt roads it will see.

Topped off the transmission fluid with 200 ml of GL4, the two way leveling took a little time to figure out.

Yesterday I overpaid for a fairly well used older model Milwaukee M18 "driver drill" (plus battery and charger) with no warranty. ( to go with my favorite tool: the m18 1/4" impact driver )
Due to a silly user error on my part, I thought it was busted, so I looked into replacement parts, and it was going to cost more than I really wanted to spend on the thing.
Later I discovered my mistake, and found the drill works fine, but just has some tired brushes.
Then the Craigslist gods smiled and for $20 more I scored 3 various m18 hammer drills from an electrician: another one with semi-tired brushes, a m18 fuel with a stuck trigger (free fix), and an older one with a seized chuck.

Last night and tonight I put the front of my car back together - bumper, valance, headlights, grilles, etc have been off for several months.
Next will be reinstalling my freshly cleaned & tested fuel injectors!
Today I drove my kids to school in the 323 - they kept telling each other its the fastest car in the world and why
Had a close call afterwards, sudden slowdown on the highway and the person behind me got rear-ended pretty hard.
I was VERY lucky not to get included in the fun!
Car seems to start up and idle well, "cold" (80 degrees) and warm. Fast idle speed is a little low, perhaps within the range of the aux air valve adjustment. Had a slight stumble warm and cold when chopping the throttle and returning to idle, so I turned the mixture screw just a smidge leaner, and it seemed to help.
Sure wish I had a real CO meter. I know there's other methods, but only one spec in the book. Been meaning to find the closest car shop that has one and make friends.
Also, I discovered yet another benefit of a small car: you can wash the whole windshield from one side!

Finally got around to replacing the broken engine mount after a local guy dug one up, then proceded to put the warm up regulator back to spec. That was some unfortunately small space to do that, but damn, it started on the first crank after a week of sitting

Bought some new Ate brake lines two front and the two in back-in bound, I'm looking to get all Ate back in the hydraulic system.

Filled the tank for the first time in 4 years because...HURRICANE (again). Remembered there's a reason that I only get a half tank each time. Fumes galore. Also got 2 new HD tarps to keep the rain where it belongs; dripping from our bathroom and stairwell ceilings. Wish me luck!
Dad helped me get a little creative when I needed a funnel for my oil change. Usually don't need one but O'reilly had the big 5qt jug which is cheaper than five individual 1qts.
Finally installed the right "early" trunk light and button.
I found out the hard way a few months ago that "late" parts aren't backwards compatible. (Button too long, light also not the right size)

I just got mine finished last week also. I made my own little harness. I ended up fishing the power wire up through the curvy trunk hinge (obviously on the drivers side). Taped around there to keep the wire from hanging loose. How exactly did you route the wire? I'm assuming you're pre-wiring was just like mine; bundled with the rear lights wiring, right near the driver's side shock tower? I forget where I got my button, but I think it was an e28 door switch. Just got lucky, I guess.
I see it there, now. Cool. I'm going to get more of the LED lights for the interior dome and this trunk light.

Yes the harness came from a late junker, and the clips that hold it to the left trunk hinge.. routed the same way.
