Exclamation Help! engine cut out briefly? Left most yellow light on dash flashed?

    Hi Need some help.
    Any ideas?
I'm at work. Drove in this morning.
Light flickered on the dash, then again and engine cut out for a second on the freeway at like 65-70mph. Then never happened again?
I think it was the leftmost yellow light at bottom of cluster next to red check engine light etc, are.
Which light is this? I'll check the manual too, its in the car. Hmm doesnt say what that light is, maybe it was the old red check engine light I just thought it looked yellow.
This happened once before months ago, but I fogot about it.
Same scenario then, cool foggy morning, about 15 min into commute, uphill?
Whats the WOT error code procedure again?
engin off, key in run, WOT on pedal 3 times ???
count flashes? I will try this.
Ok 5 times code was one long flash of check engine light then a single brief flash, then puse and repeats.
were is a copy of the decipher codes? I'll search?
Its an 87 325is with -173 ecu (Dinan chip)
Seems like something shorted out briefly?
I'll check relays etc for loose worr wires.
hmmm just saw crack in casing of inline fuse outside the 3 relay case (fuel, ign etc)
    Any help?
I'll go get more info now.
May have to limp home today and work on it this weekend.
Just trying to do some parking lot tests now so I can get home safely.
    Thanks in advance guys!

You press the pedal down 5 times in a quick succession. Leave a short pause after the first depression then conti ue with the next four presses quickly. The check engine light will flash once and then it will start to spit the codes out. You probably have a vacuum leak...code 1222.

    Thanks for the help.
Found the link to pelican OBDI code artilce.
Need to wait for it to finish to get full 4 digint code or codes I think.
I'm going to try again in a bit.
Maybe it will reveal some more clues.
Could be injector wires shorting out one did before and we fixed it.
    http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/tech...de_Reading.htm

Weird seems to go on for 5 secs then off then bling for 1 sec then on for 5 off on for 1 and repeats like this.
Seems like this is on of the single digit codes like 123 or 4 blinks so I am seeing code 1 single blink.
    WTF over ???????
hmmm we did remove the board from under the diagnostic cap to fix another issue we couldnt track down, wonder if this effects the OBD readings? shouldnt?
I have another stock -173 ECU I havent tried yet, maybe this weekend
    Back to work for now...

Yes ABS light is yellow too, but over on the right side.
It looks like a yellow lens to the left of the red Check engine light.
Still not sure, maybe it was the check engine light I saw flash.
Just drove it to lunch and back, no problems, WOOT a few times too.
Maybe make it home and dig into it tomorrow.
