What should i look for in a M3. Its for my father we've already test drove a few. The year we want is 95 blue or white with 5-speed. What normally goes wrong or should I look out for ?? The car we drove today had 87K miles but felt brand new.
Thanks,

extended warranty no matter what
Agreed!! Get the Warranty.
Just the usual stuff though, waterpump. Maybe Rear tires!!
Try to get the service records if privately owned. Or if dealer owned get it from them. If serviced at a bimmer dealership, the records will be on the computer and they can print it out for you.
Good Luck!!
ps I am looking for one too. Same colors. I really want white on black!!
Hahaha...I'm looking for the samething.
Actually I want either White or Silver.
White w/ Black interior...or Silver w/ White (grayish) interior.
Just wondering if I brought the car, do I just bring it into the Dealership and just ask for the extended warranty?
Does any body know how much it is?
no...
there are tons of places that sell extended warrantys... it wont be through bmw.. but they will allow your car to get fixed where ever you want
Yeah there is a few companys that offer these warrantys. Usually you will start to get mail from most of them offering it to you just after you buy the car. Otherwise you can do a search on the net for some. Just a heads up, none that I have found will cover over 100,000. If you find one, send the link my way!!
I don't think the extended warranty is critical. The major components on these cars are pretty robust, and the extended warranties don't cover commonly worn out stuff, like clutches.
And, if you get the disease like some have, you'll be contemplating crazy shit like obd conversions, cams, forced induction and the like that will surely limit your warranty coverage.

look around on the internet... I found one before that went to 130k miles... cant remember the name thoughOriginally posted by DeezBMW

and considering just a broken A/C can cost more then the warranty costs... its very good to have one
Yeah, I agree with that. . . I have a friend with an E34 M5, which means huge dollars for any engine work.Originally posted by SupaBimma
not true man, If you have a great independent shop like me, it wont matter
He's modded it, but the warranty somehow still covers everything, as the independent shop knows how to 'talk' to the warranty provider (I think GE).
Unfortunately, this doesn't work with CPO, which is what I have.
Oh, and what the hell is up with $7500 worth of repairs? Did you throw a stroker motor in that thing?

yeah i believe Heritage has one up to 150K.
I bought my heritage 3yr 36K for only $900 and theyve paid for about $7500 worth of stuff so i know for a fact its worth every penny, dont be stingy now to save a few bucks it will cost you a shitload in the future, just my 2 cents
give me the URL or information on that company... I want to check them out.. I paid alot more then that.. maybe its not too late to switch
gimme gimme
I need the URL or phone #, whats the exact name of this company I'll try to look them up. Cuz this 95 M3 avus blue 5-speed in excellent condition has 87K miles and is goin for 19K. It comes with no warrantee dude.
