    m42 to m50 swap; what parts do I need vs what I can buy ... help

    Ok basically the next parts I need help as I plan on doing this swap sooner than later (and I'd basically like to keep anything I can and replace as little as possible given I am on a very tight budget)

    - driveshaft (and we're talking both sedans here) ... length for a 318i is 1591mm, for the 325i it's 1512 ... what gives? the m50 320i available in europe uses the same driveshaft as the 318i ... can I keep the existing driveshaft and just mount the engine that much further forward somehow (given that 320 and 325 use the same engine mount brackets)?

    - Oil pan; can a e34 pan work (lots of junked 525s around here vs not so many 325s)?

    - clutch and flywheel

    ... please tell me about any other parts that have to be changed;

    I think it would be more productive to swap an m52 its only a little more expensive anyway.

    things that are probably different are..

    engine mounts
    wiring harness
    heatercore hookups
    Maybe tranny mounts
    driveshaft as you know
    exhaust hangers
    throttle cables
    cruise control cables/unit
    ecu obviously

    I can find out about the e36 vs e34 oil pan as i have an m50 e36 and m50 e34.
