I replaced my digital climate control unit and it displays info in Celcius. I called Pacific BMW, where I got it from, and they tell me I have to go toa dealer and have them recode it. They say they ususally charge an hour of labor. That is BS and I was wondering if I can do this myself and how. Thanks.

That's what I've always heard, too. I tried to have my independent shop reset it, but they couldn't, either. Either bite the bullet or live with Celsius. I chose the latter.
yeah, but their saying it won't even work properly if it's not recoded. I tought this was was the root of my HVAC problems, but it is still giving me trouble with the new unit installed. Need to have a mechanic check other parts of the system. Could be the blower resistor or possibly A/C compressor. Either way, my sh%# is acting all weird. Gotto get it fixed.

No, that's BS. It will work fine uncoded, it'll just display in celsius.Originally posted by axel

I've heard a lot about the blower resistor failing, sounds like a good place to start.
well then I definitely have other HVAC issues. Anyone have the PN for the blower resistor for a 98 M3 and what they cost?
