I'm not so sure that all of the cars in here really are M-tech's, at least by my calculations. The lowest VIN I saw was 45297 and the highest VIN 45482. Now correct me if I'm doing it wrong, but that is more than 150 between the two of those. Would BMW have skipped some VIN's in the process? Maybe they had a few cars that were being rolled off the production line at the same time, but not at as high of a rate as the M-tech's? I could really be over thinking this whole thing.

Maybe they didn't do a back to back run and built a few non-M-techs in between?
Wasn't there a run of M-Technik(ish) cars in '92 as well? I've seen several outfitted with early M-technik bits. Things that seemed to be early designs of M3 bumpers and such, along with M pin-striping from front to rear, different rear diffuser, front brake air ducting, and maybe a few other things. Anyone know? I've got to find someone who can run my VIN for options.
Erratic...Oops..HAHAHAHA!
If you know the original dealer your car was sold at you can just ask them. They can give you the complete options list for your car. You may not even need the original dealer, any dealer might do. I happened to know the original dealer for mine, so I just asked them to send me the options list.

Thought you guys might like to see what I have put into the Mtech. When I bought it, it had the Modena interior, now it has this. Closest I could get to the original.

^ That interior looks much closer to orginal but it probably came from an M3 individual car that was special ordered whih this style interior. The Mtechnic cars did not have vader style front seats. Good job of trying to find something closer to the orginal interior.

So clean, man.Originally Posted by Timothy Prewitt
Thanks guys. I know the Mtech didn't have vaders, but it's the best I could do. Buying a set of RC041s this week hopefully, so it will have the original wheels as well. I just need a replacement door handle now and it will be close to stock. The door handle costs about $250 from BMW which isn't bad considering they cut the lock specific for your car as well in that price.

Ill get the vin when I get the car back, but I've got an M-tech. 65k miles, pretty much stock. The body/suspension needs some work, so over the course of the next year or so I'd like to get some new shocks/struts and get some of it resprayed.
Anyone know where I can get a replacement armrest?
Don't have many good pictures of it.

VIN: 45264, 153K miles. This is a lower VIN than in post 26.
I'm the second owner and purchased it in 2006.
I'll get a better pic, but was able to capture her on film when the Top Gear boys were @ VIR filming a couple of years ago.

I have a 1994 M tech. It was spray painted red and black when I found it. Guy had no idea what it was. I traded him a 02 GSXR for it. The car was transformed in to a drift car and has some adjustable shocks in the back with H&Rs in the front. It won Memphis Drift 2. You can YouTube Memphis Drift 2 and see the car drifting about looking all nice before it was spray painted by some idiot. Why you would turn some super rare car into a drift car is also beyond me? Anyway since then I found out much and did alot with the car. I tracked down the original side skirts for the car. from a guy who had the Mtech front bumper on his car and the Mtech badges. the M tech I now have used to be his brothers car and he took some parts off the M tech, as well as the motor. He would not sell me the nose or the badges so I had to buy a regular m3 nose and badges for it. The hurrican door panel skins were lost and it has regular black leather doors. All the other Hurricane stuff is there and in good shape. The car had m3 cam upgrade a full header and a straight custom exhaust into a cherry bomb...yes a cherry bomb. The guy took the motor and put it in his car since it had the m3 cam upgrade. He put a 90k 325is stock motor out of a 95 in the M tech. The car runs rich.. The guy took the chipped ECU for the cam upgrade and put a stock ECU in the car. it runs fine just burns a lot of fuel and seems sluggish at low end. I would like to see if I get the right chip for the exhaust and header may help. the car has AC removed and fan delete. It seems to rev much faster then my other e36 I have a few. I have since repainted the car alpine white and since I did not have all the orginal parts like the BBS wheels and the Hurrican door panels and a Diffent motor I did a custom resto and went with the Black top and painted the M wheels that were on it satin black.
