    abs and dsc failure

    my ABS and DSC turn off usually after a few mins of driving does anybody have any idea wat may be causing this?

    have you tried doing a reset?
    If i remember correctly what you do is
    push and hold the DSC button with the key closed then open the key while pushing the button and hold it for 10 seconds, after that go for a short drive.

    ABS sensor, or more likely the DSC control module. These tend to fail fairly often on the e39 and e38.

    sorry i'm new to bmws this is my first and haven't had it very long.
    what do u mean get my codes read? and can i do that myself?

    i presume u mean my brake fluid? having a bit of trouble finding the reservoir, well i went to have a look and it started rainin! do i need to remove the micro filter housing?

    On most cars the brake fluid reservoir is above the brake pedal, but under the hood. It would be high and easily accessable.

    But I think low fluid would give you a different warning light.

    ok i have flushed my brake fluid and filled it to the right level! it was a little low and very dirty but that hasn't made a difference

    Best thing to do now is check sensors for visual connections or chaffing, then get codes read. that is it. good luck.
