Driving along nicely this morning minding my own buisness in a straight line doing about 70km/h and DING! Up pops a message on my dash display that the OAT has suddenly plummeted to -27.5°C. While it is winter here, the temperarure today is around +22’C not -27.5’C, so clearly this is not right.
Obviously the first thing to check is the plug connected to the temp sensor. Where is that?
quick search for "E32 Ambient air temp sensor location?" produces the result from 2009 https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...ensor-location
older E32 like my 11/88 still have this big plug left side behind bumper and that is for fog lights and outside temp feeler, also causes probs http://bmwe32.masscom.net/johan/OBC_temp/OBC_temp.html
but your built year / months should have separate wiring behind the bumper for fog lights and OAT
