besides alignment, you could need a new set of tires too!

tried to change the warm up regulator, but don't know what size bolts are those

Also might have to change a strit housing, tire is really close to the fender, it cuts it in left turns......changed control arms and tie rods but the angle's still there, wheel is straight from an alignment but is pushed forward. Any ideas?

    Yonkers:

Funny that you should bring up your situation w/ the front wheel rubbing on the fender. I had the very same problem the last time I replaced control arms and tie rods. I found out that on my car, the sway bar bushing (that's bolted up front with the two steel saddle clamps ) had softened up over time. I replaced them and noticed that the rubbing was alleviated, but still not enough to cure it completely. So in a bold move, I replaced my 205/60/14 front tires to 195/60/14 and that cured it for good. FWIW...

Now, I should point out that the rubbing was really a direct result from the added flange material from my bbs air dam. IF I were to remove the air dam, the rubbing would not have occurred in the first place.

Also take note of something peculiar about the e21. Just about every other picture I've seen, including new ones rolling right out of the factory, the front tire is positioned slightly forward of the wheel well. I don't know what the deal is, but there is more gap at the rear of the wheel well than there is at the front of the wheel well.

    Blitz & Jbob:
Y'all may be on to something about the bent/out of balanced wheels. I've already moved the two bent ones to the rear, so there's not a whole lot more I can do to the existing front ones. Don't think I could have detected the bent rims w/out the aid of that Hunter GSP9700 force load tire balance machine. That machine is worth every penny. I've decided to just live with this quirk for now. Next summer, I will most likely tear down the entire front suspension and renew everything I can get my hands on. These cars are so incredibly simple to work on.

As for my trailer, well, what can I say about it? It's paid off so many times over that I rarely unhook it. : When I moved into my new house this year, guess how I moved my spare M20 2.3L motor on engine stand? Yep, I rolled it right onto the trailer and strapped it down. Took me and my helper all of five minutes to get the job done, and I didn't even have to rent an engine hoist either.

hmmm, come to think about it, what if I unhitched my trailer and hit the highway again. You think maybe 1/2 ton of weight being anchored back there may have something to do with the shimmy?

I'll contribute something more tomorrow afternoon. No light to snap good random interior shots.
1982 320i - 86xxx miles and not moving for now.
Sound : Sony Cassette + 10 disk changer, Pioneer speakers, 10'' Boss sub x 2 --- Suspesion : H&R lowering springs, Bilstien Sport shocks all around.
    1995 Mitsubishi Mighty Max - 84,xxx miles
Broken A/C, but proving to be damn reliable. Sound : 2 Boston Acustic Speakers, 8'' Punch Sub, 350 watt Kenwood amp, Pioneer CD player. Best 3 speaker system I've ever heard.

One thing at a time, the m42 comes next.

Yeah I like the little risers in the wing. It makes it look pretty sic. I THINK the wing is a BBS but I don't know for sure.

I try to keep her clean but dirt just loves white!

I can't seem to find the wiring diagram I had. I know I have it here some where. The one other thing you should get is the harness connector. Go to a junk yard and get the main wiring harness side of the engine wiring harness connector, and cut about a foot of wiring with it. The last thing you want to do is cut the S14 harness and plug off. That will ruin the wiring harness!

Nic's got his M42. While not as bad ass as the S14, it has it's posibilities with a blower or a turbo. If he can over come the engine management that is.
