Gloss black on a Subaru:

Matte black for the roof on this car. Everything else that was matte (IE hood and roof spoiler, were painted like that beforehand already).

Has anyone removed the 3M CF vinyl after being applied for a while? I was considering purchasing some, but after talking to a 3M rep, they said it should be considered permanent, and will damage your paint ...
...not sure I want it to be that permanent lol
thoughts?
When you talk to people like that, it's old school guys versus new school guys. They're telling you what's 100% ideal and by the book.

Makes me wish my car weren't already black everywhere.
Ok, so any thoughts on what might happen once this stuff is removed after months/years of being on a car?
I know with other vinyls i've looked at, there are cheap ones that will leave really bad adhesive residue, and some higher quality ones that claim to be easier/cleaner to remove....
Matte black down the center of the whole car (hood, roof, trunk):

wonder what a touring would look like with a cf roof
I want the car in your sig.

Would love to wrap mine but it has a few small dings.

Gloss black, on the biggest pita car to work on for the roof:

That's amazing work.
This might be a stupid question, when applying vinyl to a roof like the e36 (with out rails/grooves) how to you cut the vinyl so it's straigt and doesn't mark the paint? All of them look really clean.
The Golden Rule of Wheels: Strong, cheap, light... pick two.

Cut and pray.
Some pictures on a 997 GT3 that I wrapped the 3M Di-Noc CF with, on the roof and spoiler element. Let me tell you, it looked hot! Haha.

looks greats!! awsome job!
Don, this really looks great...i think its kind of funny that someone w/ 10-15 yr old paint is worried abt putting vinyl over it...and these brand new exotics are bout it bout it. idk...if i lived in cali, i'd get a roof from ya.
Good vinyl doesn't damage paint, unless it was already on the verge of failing
That's actually one of the best parts about using vinyl, is it's reversibility.
