    E34 M5 clutch replacement

    Hey All,

I'm looking to DIY the clutch and flywheel on my M5 sometime soon. So far I've got the pressure plate, clutch, t/o bearing, pilot bearing, and I've got a JRB LTW flywheel, UUC Evo3, and DSSR on the way.

Are there any other things I should change while I'm under there? Or is there anything else I'll be needing for the job? Never done a clutch replacement before, words of wisdom (aand part numbers!) are appreciated..

Determine whether they are worth changing first, you may want to consider these:
    - clutch hose
    - tranny mounts
    - exhaust hangers
    - reverse switch
    - exhaut muffler and resonator (supersprint, eisenman )
    - new flywheel bolts

Rear main seal, trans input seal, Pilot bearing are most deffs

Shift bushings, shift selector rod seal, possibly CSB and guibo depending on condition. You'll probably need exhaust gaskets from dropping the exhaust.

For sure do the rear main seal. I think that part alone was around $30. I did mine after I bought the car last year and only have about 300 miles on it so it's still a bit touchy. My tech swapped the entire mess out in 45 minutes. It's nice to have a rack and a helper for taking off the exhaust system. Good time to do the 02 sensor if it's due too.
