What's the ECU # & chip # in the ECU? I've got one I bought for my '95 540 M-Sport but when I cracked my ECU open the chip # didn't match the standard 5hp30 # and it says to call Dinan and not install it. Figures they used different chips in the 5hp30's for the M-Sport.

Chip I have (that's never been opened) is for ECU # 0-260-002-321 & ECU chip # 01-00-1-469-154

If that'll work for your tranny and Dinan won't or can't exchange mine for one that fits my tranny then I'll happily sell it to you.

hmmmm. i'm almost positive it won't work but i'll call dinan. I'll keep you posted

Dinan part # for the chip I have is D902-0321. Looking at an old Dinan price/application guide it lists that as for 9/93+ E34 540's. But it doesn't list that part # for the M60 powered 840's. Is there a software difference between the M60 powered E31's w/5hp30's & the M60 powered E34's w/5hp30's?

lol No. but I swapped a 540 chip into a 740.

Same trans tho...so I see no problems.

The correct Dinan trans chip for your 840 is D902-0262. That is what I have in my '95. I have the install instructions if you need them as well

I am running D902-0262 on my '95 (with engine D900-4042-E). Relatively inexpensive (compared to many other things the 8 can whack you for) Very happy with performance of trans before/after.

Disclaimer: the wokke engine chip better (koizumi recommended to me after I already installed)...will switch to that sometime in future as part of my next $5K budget appropriation.

I am interested in the Dinan tranny chip for a 1995 840ci. My ECU is a 404. Is still available? If not, do you know of anyone who might want to unload it?

Called Dinan and gave me a run around about needing to buy other stuff and cannot sell the chip by itself.

What's up dgreen, I finally got a chance to put in the trans chip you sold me a while back. I wanted to install the wokke chip first, which I bought recently, before the trans chip. The dinan d902-0262 is giving me a trans fail safe for trans ecu 0 260 002 262. Is this the wrong chip for my car? March 94 840ci. Any ideas?

I just checked the dinan website and the d902-0262 is the correct chip for my car, which means there's probably a problem with your chip. Just curious dgreen, why did you remove it in the first place?

I plugged the oem chip back on and back to normal.
