    Oil Ratings

I don't know anything about Voll-Synthese. I am guessing that this is a European oil distributed by BMP or Bav Auto or someone like that. If this is the case and it is priced between M1 and Redline, I would deduce that it is inferior to M1. Why? Because oil is very expensive in Europe and also very expensive to ship. M1 in Europe for example is about $12.00 per quart (I believe). So for them to be able to import the stuff and sell it for say $6.00 per quart doesn't add up. It is proabably a group II oil like Syntec and Max life.

M1 is a great street oil and a good value. RedLine is a great race oil and if you have a $25000 race engine and are willing to change the oil every event, it's yo money. I am not sure about their street oils but I have never heard anything bad about them.

I use Amsoil which is blended and bottled in America to glaobal standards, priced between M1 and RedLine and designed with THE best additive package in the business to go up to 35000 miles between changes. This superior additive package is beneficial no matter how you drive your car from putting around town to full blown track events. How often to change it (and thus the relative value) is dependent upon the condtion of your car and the conditions under which you drive. The best way to tell is by oil analysis which, at $20.00 per analysis, is a economical way to know what is going on in your engine.

Many E36 M3 guys on this forum are using Amsoil with good results and if you e-mail me your requirements I'll try to get you a deal that beats Redline by a long shot.
