Ok, i have never read a thread about this before but i cant believe that i am the only one who has this problem. When i push the gas pedal in and out, it squeaks...is there a simple solution to this? I cant tell where exactly the squeak is coming from so i cant tell what i should do to make it stop. I usually turn up the music so i dont have to hear it...lol. WD40? Grease somewhere?
Just try spraying behind the pedal with some WD-40 and see what happens. I did the same with my brake pedal and it worked.
I sprayed WD-40 on the hinge, very quiet now.
I had the same problem. I used tri-flow which is what I use on my bike chain. Any type of lube will do.
Well, not any type.
If you want to actually fix the problem for a good while, pop the pedal rod out of the pedal cluster, clean the rubber bushings and regrease them with white lithium grease. Also clean and regrease the hinge on the floor.

You may have to remove the lower portion of the dash (black piece), but it pops out easy. There is a clip that holds the pedal to the cluster, then there is a spring that wraps around it that is easy to pop off, kind of have to look at it. After that just pull the pedal off the cluster and clean it.

I used wd40 but it wore off after a few months. I just turn the radio up so i cannot hear it.
You have a 2000 323i, here is the E34 forum, I noticed that you already asked now on the E46 forum, there you will get the answer for the 323.
As for the E34, just change the 08 Bushing D=12,2MM 2 35411154172 , they crumble away when old http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=35_0136
