    My new e30 - 1991 BMW 318is

Picked this up in Tampa, FL the other day. 1991 BMW 318is.

The previous owner was a collector in Tampa, and he had to get rid of some cars, so I was lucky enough to snag it. He's been an import mechanic for over 25 years, and he put some good work into it.

    Mods:
    M-tech steering wheel
Illuminated shifter w/ new shift boot
    Dinan ECU chip
    Front and rear strut bars
    New tires
    Exhaust cam
Alpine Head Unit w/ 10 Disc Changer in trunk
    New transmission @ ~135,000
    New exhaust

That's all I can think of for now. All and all, I am sooo excited that I finally got an e30 stateside.

    Purchase price: $3800

Apart from the wheels, that looks pretty much flawless. Nice catch!

Chromed, actually. I don't think I like them all that much, but they are easily replaced.

The rest of the car is very cool though. The undercarriage looks like a new car.

Very nice... Almost as nice as mine. I found my one owner, garage kept, 75k mile, 318is through a stroke of luck. Keep that baby nice. Examples like ours are getting harder and harder to find and they will go up in value soon. $3800 is a pretty good buy for that car.

Thanks for the comments guys! I really love the way the car feels on the road.

Don't know where I'll take it in the future, but will definitely maintain to the fullest. Possibly turbo in the future.

    Any suggestions?

Replaced all 4 rotors today with some cross-drilled Zimmermans.

Also painted my calipers black. They look nice, but hard to see behind the bottlecaps.

Work great and sound better too! Now I just need shocks/springs, some new tires, and I'll be on my way to a better ride!

@Kashmirbeige525: Yeah, the seller showed me like 13 e-mails for the car. Many which were actually from out of state.. I got lucky.

@IDM: I'll let you throw an s50 in mine if you want..

LOL I do the exact same thing all the time, mostly for mechanical questions that have already been somewhat covered in old posts, of course, but still, pretty funny!
