Why so expensive? I just shipped LA to Boston for $800? Is this a closed carrier?

    E36Shikara,

Yes we ONLY offer enclosed, insured, lift gate loading and door to door service. It sounds like your move based on the price was on an open rack? Anyways, thanks for the inquiry.

    Thanks,

    Jim,

we are looking to hire a full transporter to go from the east coast from a single point to Miller Motorsports Park in Utah in September. I understand fuel surcharge will vary, but what will the quote be to hire the whole transporter? How many cars will fit in total?

We will all load probably in the Washington DC or Richmond. VA area at a single location.

We need to arrive no later than Sept. 15th and will be done Sept. 19th.

Also, is there room to haul tires, etc? or just what we can fit in the cars?

    magnetic1,

Thanks for the follow up. Normal truckload rate is $8500 plus fuel surcharge at the time of the move, your Bimmerforums rate will be $8000 plus fuel surcharge at the time of the move. Price quoted will be for each way and keeps the truck onsite at the track with you. We can handle 6 vehicles and about a set of tires per car, maybe a few extra sets. Please let us know if we can help you with your move.

    Thanks,
    Jim

About insurance...are you the primary insurer or is the owner responsible for primary insurance? In case something happens to the vehicle, whose insurance company is responsible for the damage, theft, acts of God?

    Thanks

    Hi Jim,

Can I have a price for shipping our MINI Clubman from Newark NJ, to Colorado Springs, CO? Do you have a problem with lowered cars?

Thanks for the price inquiry. We can give you a Bimmerforums price of $1445 for your Mini Clubman and the vehicle being lowered is not a problem. Please let us know if we can help you with your move.

    Thanks Jim,

The Mini should be on a boat right now from Germany to New Jersey. We land 1st of Feb, and if it hasn't arrived by then (it should) then we will need it transported. If I call you on the 1st, how long would it take for you to pick it up, and what is the delivery time frame?

    s14,

Normal scheduling occurs about 10 days or so from the available ship date, sooner if we have availability. Once the vehicle is loaded normal transit times are 6-7 days depending on other stops along the way.

    Thanks,
    Jim

    +1 on InterCity

    Hey guys-

Just wanted to give two thumbs up to Jim, Sharon, and the crew at InterCity. I used them to ship a ZCP...the drivers couldn't have been more friendly, and I have to admit that the enclosed trailer was worth the extra money, especially during the winter months, and considering some of the nightmares friends (including dealer friends I know) have told me about cut-rate shippers.

    I'd recommend them!

Can the car carry a few household items inside (e.g. suitcase, tools, etc )

I see this is a well monitored thread. I used United Auto Transport. Do not use them! It is so hard to tell who is going to be good. FYI - the people you talk to on the phone are all just brokers, they are not the actual shipper or truck drivers!

Not sure if this thread is monitored, but I just got a quote to ship 2 cars from North NJ to Ft Lauderdale FL.

Quote was for $1300 for each car... cars were an E39 '03 540 & an MK4 '02 VW Jetta. As much as I would like to use a forum vendor, I cant in this case... just too expensive for my sake.
