    e30 m3 nightmare?

just let the numbers do the talkin, 200 hp in a 2000 lb car. ive seen some 2.5 powered deuce's give it hard and long at some track events. and im talking about cars that cost 3-4 times more. s14's belong in 2002's

My thoughts exactly. Can you imagine the look on Doug's face if I were to roll over to his house w/ that thing?

Oh, and Pasha, you are right, this car is nothing to brag about in terms of perf, but it would suprise anyone that you were to come accross. Imagine an S50 3.0L M Motor in that car!

I was at griggs racing 8 years ago. they had a 2002 racer with a E30 M3 engine transplate. The car also had flare fenders at all 4 and very wide wheels/tires. that thing was wicked no doubt.

The M2002 is a rare and VERY FAST machine. Those things are so light that the HP/weight ratio is unbelievable. There is one guy near me with a red one, too.

A friend used to an E30 M3 racecar that he got down to 2050 pounds including the steel body panels. He put an Italian S14 (2.0L) with 195BHP stock. He said it was probably one of the fastest racecars he had ever driven--much faster than any of his E-Mod competitors.

By the way I have no link to this car, I just copied the link and posted it over there cus there was a guy talking about wanting one, so the guy whose friend it is replied.

Sweet! You should see Daniel Cooper's M2. He's got the baddest street driven 2002 out there right now IMHO...with a fire breathing 2.5L Evo S14. Here's a link to some pics of his car.. http://www.m2bmw.com/m2bmw/cooper.htm

I've got a '72 2002 that i'm restoring and will be putting a S14 into (along with the whole rear suspension/drivetrain from the E30 M3). The engine needs to be rebuilt, and i'm planning on building it into a 2.5L also and recently acquired a genuine BMW Motorsport DTM Carbon Fiber Airbox for it. Should be badass when it's done...but that won't be for some time (limited funds) Here's some pics of the test fitment of the engine and airbox into the engine bay...

I'm pretty sure I've seen and lusted over this car in person, but when I saw it the wheels centers were black. I was 16 and wanted it BAD! This guy also races a pretty built '02 and kicks everyone's ass

Actually, the S14 doesn't weigh a whole lot more than the stock 2.0L 2002 engine. It does weight more, but not enough to make a huge difference. Plus, it's actually quite a nice fit into the 2002 engine bay (same block design...almost a bolt-in fitment into the 02 engine bay) and preserves the good balance of the car. Relocate the battery to the trunk and you're good to go!

You should see some of the other swaps i've seen in the 2002 world...everything from Older M5 inline 6's to Buick V8's. if I can find any of the links, i'll post em. There's some crazy s**t out there...
