    Lets talk piston ring gapping (specifically CP Pistons):

    Okay guys

    Will be assisting with another project shortly...doing some research.
    looking for feed back or direction on gapping the ring for CP pistons...

    Any information is helpful...

    I have some CPs and the instructions mention a standard spec for gap
    (but to have your builder file them to THEIR suggested spec based on whether the eng will be lightly FI or NICELY FI)

    I used the "Street Turbo/Nitrous" spec for my Wisecos as follows:

    Cyl Dia (in.) x .0050 in. = End Gap for Top Ring
    Cyl Dia (in.) x .0055 in. = End Gap for Second Ring


    The gap specs increased for blown race and nitrous race. IIRC I hit somewhere the street and race spec but closer to the street spec side.
    I used a ring filer from summit or somewhere. It had a diamond wheel and it does not take much effort to open the ring gap i.e. be careful and measure often.
