Okay guys
Will be assisting with another project shortly...doing some research.
looking for feed back or direction on gapping the ring for CP pistons...
Any information is helpful...
+1 on this Q
I have some CPs and the instructions mention a standard spec for gap
(but to have your builder file them to THEIR suggested spec based on whether the eng will be lightly FI or NICELY FI)
and the Master speaks
(with digital ink)
I used the "Street Turbo/Nitrous" spec for my Wisecos as follows:
Cyl Dia (in.) x .0050 in. = End Gap for Top Ring
Cyl Dia (in.) x .0055 in. = End Gap for Second Ring
The gap specs increased for blown race and nitrous race. IIRC I hit somewhere the street and race spec but closer to the street spec side.
I used a ring filer from summit or somewhere. It had a diamond wheel and it does not take much effort to open the ring gap i.e. be careful and measure often.
