How to Install and Use SSS\Progman with Carsoft int.

I've applied the changes_v2.iso and the SSS_Full_Start.iso files as listed in that thread in an attempt to get it to work-- still no luck.

Another thing-- it does scan the car to a certain extent -- i.e. my headlights turn on/level/off, etc. So if the interface was wrong, I don't think we'd make it that far.

Hey,

Maybe someone can help me with this i hope!
When i use the vmware image provided and install v32,
after the setup is done and i have to enter the dealer info and all..
I enter the network settings and it all seems fine, but then it reboots
and i check the settings and it didn't save my network settings..
It says ??? and the gateway is not set, if i try to change it again it reboots and it stays the same..
It doesn't hold or change my settings what could the problem be ?

Hello I install SSS Progman and use with my car E61 year2005, but now I need programing E39 year 99 with 20pin socket and Progman do not working why?? Pleas help me..... thank you

My guess is that the E39 needs an ADS interface - the E61 interface would be OBD.

I use D-can Inpa, but diagnostic work good only programing no.. today I test it with k-line interface

Harry, D-CAN will be too new for E39, K line interfaces only use 2 x K lines, ADS uses 2 x K lines plus L line.

I keep getting these screens after loading v32. It never boots into progman.

Any guesses? I've re-installed Progman at least 6-7 times over the last week but alawys arrive at one or the other of the following screens and hangs.

You have a problem with screen resolution, you MUST set PROGMAN screen resolution to 1024X768.

No you can't.

First set resolution in VMware (1024x768), then start Progman.

Screen resolution settings are made after installing the base but before installing Progman. I have not attempted this but you could try it before reinstalling the whole program again:-
1. Set the vm to use your physical CD drive and map the hard drive in the usual way.
2. Use regedit (i.e. Load Hive, Uloads hive etc.) to modify the shell setting to "explorer.exe".
3. Close and unmap the drive.
4. Re-start the vm
5. From the start menu in the vm, choose Log off, then log back on as Administrator, using the password ++Xs4Progman
6. Go to Control Panel and choose display and make the screen resolution setting change, then close back to the start menu and choose Shutdown.
7. Restart the vmware guest operating system.

Just a thought.

You need a Pentium M with PAE.

No luck, the mouse is unresponsive inside the Vmware. I reloaded everything and paid close attention and get the same screen response.

Much thanks and appreciation to those that share the information. I have DIS 55 working fine. My vehicle is 2009 e90. I'm using K+D CAN usb cable to test my setup. I'm stuck at a place when I create new session and choose car model, it returns back saying "unsuccessful". I've tried testing pinging 192.168.68.1 from the PROGMAN, this failed too. Any idea? Also are you guys running IFH-Service and DiagHead? Thanks alot!

update: got it to work by enabling dhcp for vmware[static ip doesn't work for me] vmnetcfg.exe tool. Make sure your vmware player has DHCP enabled with subnet ip: 192.168.68.0

update2: Since my version is v28, Progman is not reading the car data properly. I updated E89 in D:\Programme\IFS\SP\E89 with the new ISTA-3400 version. I'm able to read some data but CKM option is disabled[grayed out] any thoughts?

When you installed Progman, did you use the changes.iso by XDrive?

Yes I've installed the changes.iso. I think v28 is too old for 2009 model cars. Is there a way to patch the v28 with v34 or v32? Right now I just overwritten the E89 directory on D:\. I have small progress but still not coding though.

Hey All,

I converted my VMware machine to a VirtualBox from Oracle.
It all works but when i changed the shell back to progman and rebooted, i got the white screen but instead of showing Progman i get a very big #4 on the screen.
Does anyone knows what this could be and maybe how to fix it ?

Hello BMW friends pleas who help me with settings SSS or ediabas.ini.. I can work with SSS only with new car and Older as E39 E46 want edic/icom interface.. Thank you all for help me.... I use dcan interface. Inpa and DIS work good but only DIS do not work programing... Thanks one more

If you are getting the EDIC interface required error with Progman, you will need to re-install changes_v2.iso, which will import the necessary changes to enable Progman to recognise your interface as an EDIC interface. The correct changes_v2.iso file is available from the Easy GT folder on the 4shared website.
