How to Install and Use SSS\Progman with Carsoft int.

The SSS connection test with 192.168.68.1 fails.

My settings are as follows:
Virtual Network Settings:

VMNet1 Host Only
- Connected - DHCP Enabled - Subnet Address 192.168.68.0
DHCP Settings: Start IP Address: 192.168.68.0
End IP Address: 192.168.68.254

Loop Back Adapter
-IP: 192.168.68.1 Netmask:255.255.255.0 Gateway 192.168.68.1

In SSS Overview: IP address = 192.168.68.128
Network Configuration:
SSS Name: SSS_OEM IP Address: 192.168.68.30
Gateway: 192.168.68.1 IP Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

It fails Connection Test for 192.168.68.1.

I tried changing VMnet1 settings the static ones as Randomy suggested ( IP=192.168.68.31 Net Mask: 255.255.255.0 left blank for Gateway) but no luck. I see that few other people reported the same problem - any solution? I do run ifhsrv32.exe and Diaghead (does not connect)

it has to be like this:

I Have got everything working, was
Able to change a couple of settings but I don't have DRL option for some reaso :/ any idea why that specific option is not there, the whole reaso n
I got the cable was to turn off my DRLs.

Robert, you are using the correct changes_v2.iso file for the E36. Make sure that the "Interface = ****" line of your Ediabas.ini file is set to "Interface = STD:OBD" as PROGMAN does not recognise ADS interfaces.

I used the changesV2.iso - edic head
Now i tried the fullstartSSS.iso -OPs1 head.

With both i have the same result.

The ediabas Interface is set to STD:OBD...

So normaly everything is correct...

The other way would be, to get an correct "Fahrzeugauftrag" and copy it on a virtual floppy...

But Where to get this? Instead of BMW i haven't an idea, and to be honest, that's a bad idea...

I already setup Progman and connect to my 2006 E90, but after choose vehicle function., it showed a report to say my DSC and SMFA control module data are incorrect.

SMFA control module data are incorrect
part number 6926358 (incorrect or insufficient)

Can I continue to go start update? or something I should find out?

• In the Registry Editor, Click File > Load Hive
• Browse to the file Z:\Windows\System32\Config\Software
• Give the hive a name like BASE31
• It will show up in the registry

unable to browse , when i try to browse i can see the partition Z



or i try with ERDcommander2008 , there i am able to find it but when i give the name BASE31 and try to save it , says that its already in use and its not possible ,

I get the same thing on SMFA and SMFB. Did you try doing update?

ok im using dracon's pre built vmachine with gerts cable, i have dis and inpa all working fine,when i try sss progman it wont connect to the car,iam i right in thinking i should change ediabas settings in the ini file to interface= obd,switch gerts cable to obd? .im trying to veiw the car/key memory in my evo,i cant read it in dis so thought id try progman.

Jamie, yes you need to switch the interface mode to OBD and change Ediabas.ini to Interface = STD:OBD. Dracon's PROGMAN vm does not make changes to your INPA/EDIABAS configuration. There are not a lot of configurable options for E36's.

I finally installed Progman V32 on VM Ware 7.0 with all VM ware tool / Win XP pro

This was not easy , took me 5-6 installation ixssssssss

I have exactly the same issue: Progman V32 Disc 1 doesn't start installation automatically (I am using VMWare 6 tho). champaign777 (or anybody else): do you remember what was the culprit?

I finally managed to work around the problems with the Progman software and have reached the areas where you select the language and other miscellaneous information and then wait until it shuts down and restarts. Well, when you shut down the guest to map the z drive, i don;t have the z drive as an option. I can see the z SSS Progman system in the my computer section, but i do not have the z drive to select in the mapping section. What am i missing?

I managed to install Progman V32 and after configuring the IP address per Randomy's instructions, when i select new session, i click on my interface and hit continue and i get a message saying "communication between diagnostic system and radio head is disturbed.

I just realized that i did not disable my antivirus/firewall when doing this. Maybe this is the problem. Going back to give it a try.

UPDATE; PROGMAN V32 is up and running flawlessly!!!

Your car has the I-level (E89X-10-12-503), that means it uses the SP daten files V2.40.2 or V2.40.3.

You are running the latest version of Progman V32. That means that Progman is too old for your car at this version. (Normally you can use Progman if your car wasn't updated higher than version V32).

Use NCS Expert with the latest Daten files V46 or use ISID/ISSS.
