Actually WinRAR will unpack it even though some files are missing - which is the reason that others (including me until I discovered the problem) have encountered this problem. Base 3.1 is 1.95Gb (2,146,225,369 bytes) size on disk is 1.95Gb (2,096,919.369 bytes) consisting of 22 files in 1 folder and PROGMAN v32 is 2.35GB (2,529,397,319 bytes) size on disk is 2.33Gb (2,510,952,775 bytes) consisting of 94 files in 58 folders.
From:http://www.4shared.com/dir/LfFoCBq2/...s_Machine.html
Base 3,1 hack = 1.132.271.616 Byte / 1.05 GB, 787 files in 20 folders
Cd 1 = 4.656.078.848 Byte / 4.33GB, 99 files in 59 folders
Cd 2 = 2.530.492.416 Byte / 2.35Gb, 129 files in 59 folders
Check with Maikel, others have experienced a couple of issues with incomplete downloads of files from that site but I think he has now rectified the problem. You still need to ensure that once a part has downloaded, the file size of that part matches the file size of the parent file. My PROGMAN installation works and has been used by many others.
All the files where 51.200 KB except the last file.
My Virtual Progman Machine automatically loads in to Progman but I need to run the changes.iso. How do I get out of Progman but stay in the virtual machine?
I got the Virtual Machine for V32 already built on DVD. There are no interfaces available when I go to check, that is why i think I need to run changes.iso
I have INPA, DIS v44 all working already. I use an Ediabas OBDII cable, autodetect works, etc.
EDIT: I just realised the loading hives & unloading hives, etc. is all about being able to boot into the windows section of the virtual machine!

YES! I was about to reply but see you fingered it out.
That registry hive loading thing is a PITA but it does the job. That said, "Gene Poole" used a different trick, seen here, which is probably easier than all the registry futzing around:

Hi all,
I have a problem with progman / SSS V32 with my BMW E36. I use an ADS interface and the changes_v2. The interface is detected and there is also a communication. After some minutes the error "For this one Car select a EDIC / ICOM Interface".
See picture.

Can someone help me?

Rudi, you must set the ADS interface to OBD mode and have the "Interface =***" statement in your ediabas.ini file set to "Interface = STD:OBD" to use PROGMAN with your E36.
Rudi, only make the change in c:\EDIABAS\Bin\ediabas.ini .
Hi DavidMc,
I have made it and the Inferface will be found. Thanks for your help.
But this message appears.
"Information about a vehicle of the E36 series could not be found"
Look at the picture.

Have you I idea why?
The Interface works perfect with DIS V44, V57 and Inpa.

Rudi
Rudi, for PROGMAN you need changes_v2.iso and an interface that can detect the ignition signal.
R0t0ras try bimmerforums .

Hi David,
I have installed the changes_V2 from this Forum and my Interface can detect the ignition signal. Look on my first picture you can see Klemme 15 / ignition.
If I use my Interface with OBD in the ediabas.ini, then DIS doesn't run. My ADS is the original BMW ADS.

Gerd
Rudi, if you have changes_v2.iso correctly installed, the interface you added should now show up as an EDIC interface. Your ediabas.ini entries are correct and it is normal that you cannot run diagnostics with the interface set in OBD mode. What is the build date of the car you are working on?
Hi David, thanks for your endurance.
The interface show up as an EDIC on the screen "New session".
My car is from 11/1995. I think the Interface is the problem. It is a sheer (reines) ADS Interface and it gives Problems if I it use as OBD.
Regards
Rudi
Rudi, keep it purely for diagnostics and pick up a cheap INPA/EDIABAS compatible OBD interface like the ones offered on Ebay and by do-it auto for coding and programming.
David, I think you have right. I will buy a new cheap Interface for Progman/SSS.
My Interface is good for DIS and Inpa/NCS. There I have no problems with it.
What do you think of it?

Can someone tell me what changes I have to take for a E60?

Hi,
I have installed SSS Progman-v30 but it cannot communicate with my 2005 E53 X5 nor my 97 E39 528. The Progamn's Test Connection function also fails whether or not the interface is connected to the vehicles and ingition turned on. I'm using INPA/EDIABAS OBD compatible interface from Ebay with ignition/battery detection feature working. The interface works perfectly with INPA and GT1. Both cars are automatically detected and all applicable modules are picked up.
I have installed changes_v2.iso correctly, the interface I added shows up as an EDIC interface at 192.168.68.1. When I start a new session I see IFH-service showing 192.168.68.129 address but then progman issues the error that communication is disturbed. Ediabas.ini entries in windows is correct i.e. STD:OBD.
I have gone back to Progman in explorer mode and all look fine. Vmware and main host windows shows no conflicting IP addresses. What could the problem be? Any pointers greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Check that you don't have an antivirus or firewall program running.
Attachment 363692
That was it! Disabled host windows firewall and all is working now. But turned off host networking not to compromise my notebook.
Much thanks for the help, David!
