Thats is the treasury box of a friend in Germany who also owns an E32 750iL Highline and another 750iL. I sent him the 3 blue cloths I found for his treasury box, besides other things there are the switchblade remote controls and the complete set of the books The seven years of the Seven, and as far as I remember the case is the original BMW case for the books, that is really rare. I only have the books and the large colour explosion view print of the E32 which came with the books.

Wow and I about used the blue cloth in mine for an oil rag
Depending on the age (style) of the blue cloth, you may have a $100 oil rag!

This is an older rag, as indicated by the rounded corners. Newer rags have squared off corners. There are people restoring E28 M5 that will want that. The older ones in such good shape are hard to come by. You can post up on myE28

Prices will go down for the present time being. There is/was a new guy on the German forum which claimed he got from his grandpa (now 80 years old) a box of 54 new and 12 used blue clothes, who worked in BMW production hall 50 Werk 2.4 Dingolfing where the E28 and E34 were assembled, time frame when production switched from E28 to E34. He was not very welcomed by the members as he asked for too much.

How much does he want for one? I have seen them for anywhere between $25 and $100.

He was asking for 60 EURO/piece, but people doubt if his story is not made up, if they are real ones or cheap copies to make a quick buck. He was banned there on the forum for offering these parts in the normal forum and questions about original or not.

In the forum that Shogun mentioned, there was also a discussion about different versions. People claimed only the style shown in image #1 is correct, whereas #2 is wrong. One of the pictures that Shogun linked at the very beginning of this thread shows both. Are they both original? That would settle one part of the by now closed discussion over there. Of course, the question whether the offered articles are reproductions remains open.
All are original, different shape, curved corners, different logo print style, just depends when they were made, part of it is said in this link http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/sh...ool-kit-cloths

I have one of those collecting dust on my shelf. I about used it to clean up some oil, then I seen this haha.
You know just before I sold my 89 735iL, I thought of keeping that blue rag as I barely used it. I never saw another BMW with it and I kept it clean for the most part. Now seeing how hard they are to come by and expensive, I wish I just at least kept that rag.

I now have a original blue cloth (from a E32 parts car) in my 1998 E36 M3 trunk tool box, but the "official" place I do not know, in my tool box it is above the tools. Maybe the E36 forum members know it. flyfishvt for example.
ETK does not show it exactly http://2009.bmwfans.info/parts/catal...tool_tool_box/
Have also asked on the German E36 forum if someone has a pic, if I get the iinfo I will let you know.

Where do they go in the e32 kit shogun? Mines sitting in the spot for the warning triangle
Me E30 87/ 325i + F25 12/ M-Sport + E32 94/ 740i
G/Fs E34 92/ 525iT + F48 18/ X1
Might be correct in that position, I just googled a bit and found some in the same position of the warning triangle, with warning triangle it is on top of it.

Hmmmm that's interesting. Exactly how mine is
Me E30 87/ 325i + F25 12/ M-Sport + E32 94/ 740i
G/Fs E34 92/ 525iT + F48 18/ X1
ETK diagrams are hopeless and many times not an exact explenation of the real sutuation.
I've searched many times, but have yet so see a pic on an E36 toolkit with the cloth in place. Almost makes me wonder if the E36 even came with one. As again, ETK show general pics. If you look at a 2016 ETK, you see parts in the E36 section listed that didn't even exist back then.
ETK is a bad indicator.

I remember we used to keep it folded in half, on top of the tools when my dad had the E32 as a company car.
As to location via factory... no clue.
Current Collection:
1993 740iL - daily driver; 1994 740iL - project #1; 1994 740i - project #2
1991 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon - beast of burden & tool/parts hauler
Yes, but same problem again. With cross-referencing you will find parts listed for a model, when that part didn't even exist when that model was in production.
BMW lists new parts retrospectively or what is that exact term? Retroactive?
So the ETK is not a definitive guide.
That's probably how it was stored in the E36 toolbox as well, as there really is no other way to store it.

Hmm well shoot this warning triangle looks a bit different than the one I just bought (which is what the RealOEM site shows for the E34 anyway, so I bought this one)..
