    Rubbing/polishing compounds

Have anyone use rubbing compounds before? I just got some Turtle Wax polishing compound and rubbing compound the other night when i went to get new bulbs for my car. The polishing compound says scratch remover on it and restores shine and the rubbing one says heavy duty cleaner. Has anyone use either of these? This is my first time trying out compounds and i just want to get it right. Thanks

Both of those are pretty serious abrasive compunds. I assume the Polishing compound is white and the rubbing compund is red. I have used both, but only to remove some extremely deep scratches from wet sanding, and then only by hand. The red compound was like rubbing wet sand on the car, the white was much milder but still created swirls
I repainted a car last summer and did not use anything as abrasive as those two products to finish the paint.
Be very careful with them on a new car.

Putting vanilla moose on top of s100 will remove all the s100. :

You should use the Vanilla Moose as a glaze, even though it does have so protective properties to it, and go DACP, Vanilla Moose, then S100.

If a carnuba is being use it should ALWAYS be your last step.

If the swirls are really bad and you have some oxidation i would say use 1Z Ultra Polish, 1Z Paint Polish, Menzerna Final Polish , and then a coat or 2 or s100 carnuba. This should take care of just about everything. After you've done that i would keep it up with s100 SEC and s100 carnuba.

If you don't have a PC get one, it make a huge difference.
