Here is the problem:
When activating the key fob the doors lock, but the lights don't flash, the alarm sound doesn't chirp, and the alarm indicator light on the center console does not light up/flash. I assume it is supposed to do all of the above. In addition, the majority of the time, I need to place the key fob within a few inches of the clown nose in order to activate the locks.
I thought I would start with the alarm module, but after searching this forum, I can't determine where it is at. Any suggestions?
Both alarm modules are on the passenger side along the floor board. Check out the link below...the IR system in that thread doesn't apply to you but as far as I know, the modules are there. There's an aux module that sits right next to the alarm module in the pix...the aux module controls things like the tilt sensor and glass shatter sensors.
In my 91 I had some of the same symptoms as you (no alarm and LED light in the console was inop) and it turned out that I didn't have a fuse on the main DWA module.

Great, I'll check it out. Thanks.

Okay, got to the alarm module and everything looks intact including the fuse. I replaced the fuse anyway, but no change in the system (no beep, no flashing of lights, no indicator on console.
I'm assuming the module itself is bad. Any suggestions?

I do have this connector that doesn't have a home, but I don't see any place that it would attach.

I'm afraid the sure way to know what is going on is to get the car plugged into a computer to find out the fault codes for the DWA system. That is unless you can borrow another module to test before purchasing one.
