(Indiana) '98 328 Sedan - Part out or take the whole car

Up for sale is a 1998 Avus Blue 328i. Son got t-boned last December and the car is sitting waiting to be fixed or parted out. The body shop wants $4K to fix, pics up later today...

New rotors & pads
New clutch
New valve cover gasket
New timing belt & water pump
New Bilstein sport shocks
New Eibach lowering springs
New rubber (forget what it is but I'll find out)
Dove gray sport seats & interior
Wheels are in tremendous condition
No rust, this was a California/Texas car

Parts are virtually brand new and worth over $2,000 by themselves. I did not do a leak down test on the car so have no compression numbers, but it pulled very strong.

Has the car been declared totalled, and would it come with a title/salvage title (if declared totalled)?

I am guessing it is totalled since I went ahead and took the check; guessing either way it shows up on carfax if you go to re-sell it. I have kicked around the idea of repairing it but am in the middle of a race car build and that seems to be soaking up my time and money...literally.

lol I feel you. If my finances come through from the gov't I just might make a road trip up there and pick the whole damn thing up from you. I only really need/want the swap and suspension stuff, but that's a damn fine price on the whole car. I'll be in touch.
