probalby wont be able to find a 95 with 50 for 12.5k; probalby more like 100k in that price range, but you never know;
check roundel, local publications, local cca stuff, turner classifieds, ebay, roadfly, etc... good luck
fish around there are some solid deal out there
what are roadfly roundel and turner classifieds?
also, would it be silly to get a high-mileage one (say 150k+) and get a rebuild for like 2.5k or would a rebuild cost a lot more than that?
i have an E36 M3 1995 and i bought it like 4 month ago for 13.5 k
with 97 thousand miles on it. it will be really difficult to find one with 50 thousand miles for only 13 K
oh well, maybe u will if u get lucky, it depends how badly u want it. i really wanted mine, i wasnt patient.
trust me, 100 000 miles on an M3 is not much, dont worry at all.
good luck, and good choice of car, u will love it

roundel is a bmw cca publication. prices seems to be on the high side
Any M3 selling for $13k will need a couple of $k of work to bring it back to decent shape. So if you only have $13k look for another car.
I paid $15500 for mine with 84K miles on it just about a month ago. The body and interior are in nearly perfect shape for a car that old. The engine and drivetrain were also in tip top shape. I have spent a lot of money on getting it to be as bulletproof and track-ready as I can, but if I was not planning to drive it hard on a track, I would have saved the cash and not had to spend a dime.
I would say increase your budget by $1-2K or maybe find an older or non-M E36. You'll want to find one in good shape with every service record there is to make sure the car was well taken care of. The ones that weren't may not be worth saving $1-2K on up front, because you will likely spend that (or even more) down the road when something goes wrong.

I got a 95 with 72k for 17k, blue book don't mean shit
I also have one forsale. 95 with 76k on the clock for $17 K as well.
Let me know if you're interested.
Thanks

Which book were you looking in? I looked in the wholesale (black) book last night. A clean '95 goes for 12.5k wholesale. That book assumes 12k miles per year so roughly 108k .. Unless you're a dealer it will be tough to get a car at a wholesale price-- retail price is usually 3-4k more than wholesale.

yeah, what book are you looking at that say 50k mile books for 12.5k? It'll bring more than that at the auctions.Originally posted by jterp

I agree. I paid 17.5 for mine in mint condition with the upper end of 50k miles on it. Rare dakar + mint condition = $$$. No one wants to sell their M's for blue book, esp around here.Originally posted by STL Avus M3

hey, I have a white 95 with 89k on her. I would be willing to part with it, if the price is right. I have recently installed H&R race springs, Koni Adj...Vaders are really nice looking. Oh yea it also has the Contours on it, Blacked out kidneys, clears, you get the general idea...........
It's gonna be hard for you to find an M3 for that price w/ those miles. I have been looking for an M3 for a long time now and I have found just one that I am really considering and it has 92k on it and he wants $15.5k. I offered him $13.5k and he said he would consider my offer if he didn't sell it this week. I did find one green M3 in FL that only had 35,xxx miles on it and he was aking $15k firm. Anyway good luck on your search.
