    reset EDC

    hy guys,

my 730d have EDC with dynamic drive, I read this:

    Notes on Service
EDC diagnosis detects electronic damper faults on the complete axle only. Mechanical testing of individual dampers can be carried out on the damper tester.
Mechanical wear causes the dampers to weaken over the course of their service lives. A running-time memory shifts the damper curves towards a harder setting. Faulty dampers are normally replaced together on a single axle. Following such a replacement, the running-time memory for the front or rear axle must be reset with the DIS (life time reset)."

now, I can feel the car rides a little bit stiffer than before, use to be like flying over the bumps but not anymore, no faults and no changes in the riding height just a little bit stiffer setting despite I always use the comfort setting.

I´m thinking about one thing just before buy a brand new set of shocks as they are very expensive:

reset to zero the EDC to assume I installed a new set of shocks in order to shift the damping to factory levels.

do you guys advice me to reset or not?
I would like to regain the previous comfort but not put myself in danger or the driving stability at speeds in highway.

please guys, any hints regarding this issue.

    thanks and my best regards

    Hi,

looking for the same information after changing the front dampers with OEM.
Cannot find any procedure to do it with NCSExpert or ProTool.
    ISTA+ says to use ISTA-P, but I just have a K+DCAN cable.

    Did you find a procedure?

    Thanks

For those who are looking for the same information, ISTA-D or ISTA+ is the tool to use. In service operation , look for EDC and there is a tool to reset if front, rear or ECU have been changed.
It takes 10s and it is done.

    Thanks Marco for your MP.
