I have searched and found nothing. How would i permanently disable dsc. Can i unplug it somewhere or pull a fuse. I know how to push the button to deactivate it.

For track cars the dsc makes you slower as long as it's not raining. It does add a small safety margin but I don't like how it interupts power while on track so I don't use it either.

I stick a piece of tape on the steering wheel on which I write, with a Sharpie marker:

    DSC OFF

    CAMERA ON

    BE SMOOTH

...which usually gets the job done.

I've seen folks with the entire DSC-throttle body deal removed and bundled alongside the intake, but don't know how the actuation of the rear brakes is dealt with.

Old, slow, and in the way.

I did this on my Z3. Just replaced the ASC throttle body and intake boot with a new $20 boot from a '95 M3. With the connector disconnected, ASC was turned off. Now, that was ASC, not DSC. I'm not sure if that will work with DSC or not. The simple way would be to disconnect that DSC throttle body (IF it has one) and see.

Option 2... If you don't mind losing your ABS, too, you can pull the ABS fuse and DSC will go away with it.

My suggestion and my practice is to make turning off the DSC part of the startup procedure.

DSC doesn't use a throttle body (ala ASC) I know you can get conforti shark software that automatically disables DSC when the car is turned on. But obviously that isnt a free solution.

What's so hard about pressing a button? Seems like a good idea to leave it there in case you ever need to sell the car, etc.

DD AND Race car? This I need to see.

My independent mechanic has said that autologic software can do this but that's $500+. It can be set so that one press turns it off until you hit it again, regardless of whether you turn the car on/off.

I suffer through turning off DSC everytime I get in the car (whether my former RX-8 or my Z4) so that I can have it still there if I decide to ever let anyone else drive the car. Case in point... The day I got my brand-new RX-8, I took my uncle for a ride, on the damp roads, with DSC off (yes, Mazda calls it DSC, too). I let him drive and he spun off the road and took out a metal stake. Fortunately the only damage was under the rocker. I thought it was hilarious, but he didn't
I also let my friend DE the RX-8 (in the snow) at Mid-Ohio. I probably wouldn't have gotten it back if he didn't have DSC!

I think the easiest way would be to unplug the 4 pin connection for LEW.(steering angle sensor) Its at the bottom of the steering column inside the car. This would set a steering angle calibration/initialization fault which should disable DSC without screwing with ABS.

You Sir are correct.. However this means that you CANNOT get DSC back without a calibration of the LWS (steering angle sensor).

This will disable the ABS. Not desirable IMHO.

I assume disconnecting the 4 pin connector under the column will throw a light. Sounds like my best option. Thanks guys.

It didn't on my car, I've run several races with it removed and with working ABS.
