Hey Stompweaver, trust me when I say I've really learned my lesson and will never let something like that happen again.

Just ordered brakes/rotors, as well as coilovers, so the car is getting the proper tlc now, lol.

300,000 views???? Oh damn, lol. I should get a vanity plate that says:

    "60k No Oil"

    Thumbs up

Cool. I just wondered as it had all gone a little quiet. Maybe you should change you name to tlc7c now instead

I am looking forward to seeing the pictures. I have no doubt your engine will be fine though. I have seen worse and they have all gone on to do a lot more miles afterwards

"Sludger" - that might make a nice plate for you

    Keep us updated.

    Stomp

Well, not going to read through 4 pages to look for updates. Can the OP be edited with what page the update pics are on if there are any.

And the whole thread locking thing.... I did not see the last one, but it was stated it was locked down because of all the potential traffic from other sites looking to voice their opinions on the 60k oil service interval.

Ummmmmm...... if this was a thread about a honda on iliketoricemycar.com 3/4 of OT would have registered accounts to rag on the person....lol

    just saying....

Dude actually has a good point. Why not edit the first post and put the pics there, so everyone can find them? Otherwise we'll all be scrolling and clicking back and forth.

The before picture motivated many of us to do the VCGs.

how many miles now since the last oil change? If its too long by now the engine may be getting worse, not better

On 1/04/2010 this car had 600 miles to go before the oil change was due. So if the car is driven 10 miles per day, we are still two months late for this oil change.

    Yup.....you got it.

I think he has had the oil changed out (call it another flush, in the cleanup phase if you will).

We will do this soon...I know you guys have been super patient...but my underway schedule keeps getting in the way.

My last day on the ship, is the 7th...then I am on vacation for 16 days (yipee), where I can spend copius amounts of time working on my car / other cars.

The things I have planned are...

    1. Closing the loop on this thread, and writing the review on the Auto Rx cleanup with pics.
    2. I have a spare seat in my garage, that I plan on taking part and writing up a diy for seat occupancy sensor change out.
    3. Engine coolant overhaul on my ride.
    4. I have to put the brake kit on, that I got from Smilez(Ray). Cross drilled/slooted rotors, and stoptech pads and lines. I may do some caliper beautification also.
    5. I have to replace shocks/struts, on a minivan, for a gentleman that has a rare blood disorder, and can't do/afford to do it himself. This is my son's gf's dad.
    6. Pull out the seats in my sons 89 325iX and redye the carpets.

That's all. Plus the "honey do" list I know I'm gonna get.

    7. Spend time with your family ... (although I guess time in the garage with your son counts)

Yeah....I hear ya on #7. We are going to go away somewhere for the weekend. My wife will be working during the day and my kids will be at school....so with that said, I am sure my car will be detailed daily, along with my house, garage, etc.....

Yes, the oil has been changed already, per the AutoRX instructions. We're just trying to get our schedules in sync to pop the vcg and have a look around.

If you want to knock it out this week, during the evening....I can support that. Shouldn't take us much more than an hour.

How's she running? Are you noticing a difference/improvement in the way the car idles/revs/sounds? How about mpg?

Did you get a look at the oil when they drained it?

    Really curious.

Would like to say that I am very impressed by Dane and tps for staying calm during a lot of bad-attitude attacks. Respect there.
Very informative thread(s). Personally I dont understand why the filter wasnt changed more during the initial flushing stages.
Question tps, can you tell if your car idles or revs or anything better by now? I know you said it ran fine before, but surely it must be getting better?

    aaa, almost 100th post!!
