I'm looking at getting 17x7.5 et22. I was told they would stick out past the fenders I don't believe it but I need to be sure. And I don't want them past that because I'm going with coil overs on my 93 325is. I'm looking for a nice lip with out sacrificing tire size, and quality. what's a decent tires size for street possible track performance. And would not like to roll the fenders. Thanks sorry I sound like a scatter brain

17x8.5 +40 is a common square setup on front and rear but using a 10 or 12mm front spacer - a 17x7.5 +22 front sits closer to the inside of the car than the 8.4 +40 with a 12mm spacer (essentailly a +28 wheel)
The rear setup will be where the 7.5+22 will sit about 5.3mm closer to the outside fender.
Ride height and camber will dictate if a reasonable 225/45/17 tire would rub. Rolling the rear fender would probably be a safe bet. I wouldn't go smaller than a 215/45/17 but thats my 2 cents.

I wouldn't go larger than a 215 on a 7.5" unless you are getting Hoosiers.
Here are 16"x8" +23 mm with 225/50s. Fit fine on the front (with camber bolts), rubbed inside on rear fenders.
I would highly recommend wider wheels. I am on 8.5"s now and wish I had gone with 9" or wider with the 225s.

Nice to know about your ideas and thought about the fronts of the cars but from a mechanical point of view its so simple and even not an issue to used your thought in the cars but they works with their own style and legends in their work.
Agreed. +22 is a pretty aggressive offset. If you run low profile tires, like 225/35/17 I would think youll be safe. Honestly I wouldnt run more than 225, or less than 215 on 7.5in tires. You will be alright if you roll the fenders, which is a good idea to keep it safe. Rolling the fenders is fairly cheap and doesnt affect the look of them.
