    Hi,
    Hope your install went fine.

I'm preparing to put my E39 together and have been organizing tools and parts. Got the head milled and checked out, got the oversized gasket, got the Timesert kit and new head bolts.

My concern is the VANOS install. I see several kits for sale, about $250, but the guy I bought the car from said I didn't need it. Any advice?

Yes you need the tools. Check out my other thread http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1220347 I added some timing extra tips on page 16.

You will do the timing many times to get it correct.

I require a 100% deposit on the tools ($450 from http://stores.ebay.com/EL-PASO-TOOL-...TOOLS?_rdc=1); $50 rental and shipping charges will be deducted;30 days for their return in good condition & complete; PayPal only

    Kit includes:
    cam locking tool

    double vanos kit
