Completed the install Friday night, but didn't have a chance to take it for a drive until last night.
I love the difference. The cam feels nice and smooth right throught hte RPM band until about 4750 rpm, then the engine starts to come on the cam. Things really start to open up and by 5500 rpm the needle is diving for the red like an addict for the crank!
When I installed the M50 intake manifold I noticed that I had a noticable improvement throughout. The thing that really stuck out is I got back the throttle induced oversteer that I had before I put Toyo T1S tires on. Nice gain there.
Now with the cams you can really feel the engine coming to life. It has an awful lot more steam up high than it ever did before. The M50 was a swap I'd strongly suggest to anyone. The cams, do it do it do it do it dso it......
Really cool stuff.
Can't wait for some software and a set of custom headers.
If any of you guy have questions post em up. Between myself, Wingman and Hugo we should be able to answer them all.

Yay!!!!!!!!!!! You did it man!!!
Congrats! So, from a roll, the cars feels... what? More alive? A LOT more alive? Like a rocket?
How about from a start? How's idle, sound, everything!!!!

what cams could I put in the M? Keeping a decent idle etc. I am thinking of Cams, M50 , CAI, only problem is software......
For the M cars, Eurosport have a kit with more aggressive Schrick cams.
You should DIY the whole thing, then get a used set of schricks (check out ebay.de, better than ebay.com for that) and have custom software done for you.

Sorry I've been away Hugo, I had this nice reply written up, then my internet connection crapped out....again. Cams rock especially above 4750 rpm. Much much faster now.
J10B- Don't worry about the software. You stock DME will adapt to the different cams and manifold. Have the software done when you have the $$. You'll notice a nice gain even without software. Once you have the software you'll want to get a set of 24 lb injectors too. You'll be reaching (or beyond) the 270hp threshhold.

So, your connection screwed up after you had done a detailed write-up huh? Happens all the time, or the board goes down just as I'm about to own Pepe or something...
It's cool to hear that the car runs fine and where are the gains most noticeable. Poor tires with the ASC off, huh. And to think we can still get some more N/A horses out of the 2.8... great!

Modded cams without software changes? So the DME is telling the engine to advance / retard the cams when it doesn't know what the current or destination timing will actually be?
Danno, the consensus is that the engine can run fine, safely, but not at the optimal potential. So some timing issues can/need to be addressed.
So with the M50 intake manifold and these cams, you can expect a loss of torque in the mid range RPMs, around 14 lbs. With software, you gain back some of it, but still lose around 7 lbs. Keep in mind, overall torque is better and so is HP (big time!), but at mid-range, it decreases a bit.
Now, software allows you to fine tune the whole thing, avoid lean or rich conditions, etc...
With these mods but no software, I'd guestimate around 225-230 crank hp. With software, expect around 240-245.

I'd agree with Hugo on that one. Danno's got the right idea though. The computer doesn't know the exact timing specificationns, bu tit's damn close. I got a code last night for Misfire on #5 and 6. Usually if you have a problem it starts at 6 (the weak cyl, every engine has one), and works down. The fact that it took over half a tank of gas to get this code at all tells me that the problem is very minimal. If it was serious I've seen it a lot faster. No weird sounds, rev's cleanly, I think the computer is just a wee bit off.

Yeah no biggie, just some fine tuning to be done. I'm thinking it may not be getting enough fuel at cold idle. Once it runs for 20 seconds it idles fine. The fuel pressure regulator would likely fix this. The computer software would do it as well. It took half a tank of gas to come up, which means it isn't a large fault, it's just a little off.
