    Heater problem

    On my 93 318is my heater won't work in the vent(dash) position. it just blows cold air. It does work(heat) in the defrost or floor positions. It was like this when I got the car but I never noticed till the winter and I said I would fix it this summer. Well the summer is over and I want heat. ANyone else have this problem and how to fix?

    Sounds like it could be a vaccum leak. I believe our vents use vaccum lines to adjust where the air blows. Can anybody confirm this?

    Try turning on the ignition (with the engine off) and change where the air blows and the temp etc... Do you hear any hissing?

    Hi
    DId you try to turn the knurled knob on the vent that has a red bar on one side and blue on the other. My 325is menual referes to it as an anti fatigue feature
