Hello again
Years later i am going through some serious sellers remorse, and am trying to locate my old E21/S14 that i built while stationed in Italy. I have seen pictures of it in the states in the Norfolk Virginia area, but i have no idea of its whereabouts. Here is a link to my Fquick with pictures, disregard the vinyl adds they were on the car for a sponsor at a show, if anyone has any idea of its location/owner i would be very happy to hear from you!

Nope, that car in the SF CL ad was just built and the owner is on this board, documented his swap. eurospec1's car was done several years ago and I drooled over that one too when it was being done.
So you coming back to the fold man?

Just bumping this to see if anyone has spotted it, thanks!
bumping again, still looking, thanks!
my quarterly bump!
Jeff beat me to it. You may also be able to do a DMV search under your old registration or through your insurance company. Both would at least be able to locate your old VIN and you can then do the Carfax on it.

Bump again,
the vin problem is i never owned this car in the united states, i built it while stationed in Italy, and the guy who bought it from me brought it into the US.
car is beautiful, good luck finding it!

Buy my turbo.. The S14 will have to do a double take!
I understand the old way of Euro thinking about the VIN, but the VIN would not change on the car. If you have any old paperwork on the car it would have stayed with it. Old 3 series should be able to filtered pretty easily.
The only other thing is to contact law enforcement in the suspected area he imported the car to and see if you can gain some leads that way. I have had some luck talking to police about tracing the car history at times.
After having some issues with other cars, I've made it a habit to keep a copy of the title of any car that crosses my ownership. You never know.
Hey, get me the year and color of the car. I'll see what I can dig up using my bother-in-law's LE contacts. Oh, and also the approx. year of importation.

did the subs sound good? i want to do the same layout to mine but i dont know if it would rattle the whole car and sound bad or good?
Well i just called my old insurer and they gave me the Vin! It is TELAI05271753
its a 1977 BMW 320, note that it is not a 320i. It is dark blue in color and i believe it was imported in to the US in 2007. The license plate it wore while overseas and probably was on it when it landed here was a Gov plate that was numbered AFIC23533.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

bump for any info
bump still searching!
I applaud your tenacity! And I will learn from your experience: don't sell your E21 until ABSOLUTELY neccessary! I certainly wish I'd held on to my first one all those years ago...
bump!
the fact that you're still searching for yours after all this time is inspiring....like a romantic story. i love my E21, its clear you did too. hoping you find your old car, or something that brings you as much joy.....like another sweet E21!
Cant someone run Carfax and search for it via the vin?
