Check Engine Light comes on in97 328i

dealer says gas cap is loose, code checks out as emissions related to the gas cap, hope that easy, anyone else have that experience? Is it ever serious?

same problem w/ the gas cap. the check engine light will light up for any emissions related error. if you get that light again, wait about a week and it may go away when the computer kicks the code out of memory.
