    factory alarm components

when you buy it, what comes in the box - only alarm black box and remote? I assume all e36's are pre-wired?
So if I get it on ebay or something it's just plug and play (well, I have to reprogram remote or something.
also, if I remove it (just the module) from another car, will the car still work?

The point is, I'm planning on selling my '98 328iC and planning on getting another one, if I pull factory alarm, will the car still work fine, and if I put it into another e36, would I have to do anything else apart of actually plugging it in?

    thanks!

Yes it will. You need to yank the alarm brain, the ~1' long harness that connects the brain to the factory pre-wired plug, the siren from the passenger side headlight area and the LED (probably somewhere on the dash). Plug that all back in to your new E36 and you'll be good to go.
