Electric Water Pump
Have any of you considered this or have used it in the past:

I was considering it for the cooling advantages, but on top of that, claims of about 10 RWHP and 10 Ft./lbs. are being achieved as well. Comments welcome.

electric pumps flow great.
but under a pressurized system the flow greatly reduces.
I don't think the stock bmw alternator can handle it either.

Don't forget, with anything that you take away from powering mechanically if you power electrically instead, you'll still put a mechanical strain on your system.
Electricity isn't free...

Besides running the alternator, which I would leave stock when upgrading, how would removing a mechanical water pump and going with an electrical one put more mechanical strain on the system?

Nope, the power isn't free, but it is more efficient.
The problem with these pumps is that they run at one speed, and run all the time.
Good idea for a track car, but pretty hard to warm up a street car with full flow all the time...

Thanks. Something to definitely think about.
