Tire Size Options on E36 Bottlecaps

Hey y'all,

It looks like I may just buy tires for my 15" bottlecaps instead of shelling out for a nice set of 17's. That being the case, I'm disappointed in the tire selection for this wheel.

A 205/60-15 is stock, but is rather narrow, even for a 7" rim. A 225/55-15 would be great, but only one option is available......and it's overpriced......and it's not a high performance tire.

I'd consider a 215/60, despite the fact that it's taller, but would like to see some pics of others who have already done this. Anyone?

BTW, I've thought about 225/50, but that's nearly a full inch shorter than stock. That's too much for a stock height car (that won't be lowered for some time).

I'll likely end up with Yoke ES100's in a 205/60, but thought I'd pick the brains of others first....

I believe they're 15x7's. Search on tirerack to see what you can fit.

Done and done. And, yes, they're 15x7.

I've been to enough tire sites. I'm now just looking for personal experience (and even pics) of tire choices other than the standard 205/60's.

Take a look at them...then worry about wider rubber...With that much sidewall, you won't notice as much a change.
