Today at 5:00pm on El Camino Real and Main St. in Old Town Tustin (the place of numerous e31 sightings) I was leaving my office and exchanged friendly honks with an Oxford Green 840Ci.

Also an Oxford Green 840Ci, this morning in the parking lot at the tennis courts at Arbor's Park, Summerlin, Las Vegas.

Was in westfield nj around 6:20pm, on park avenue saw a alpine white 8 with stock wheels, seemed to be a young driver like myself. I rolled down my window in my dodge avenger (rental) and yelled "nice car" i'm pretty sure he noticed me.

Saw a green 840ci with some minor paint missing on the bumper in Downtown San Mateo, CA last month or so. Older fellow driving. Also there is apparently a blue CSI in the hills of highlands near Crystal Springs shopping center.

Saw a black 840 parked outside of a shop off El Camino right before the Chase bank in Mountain View, CA as well.

If you ever see mine you will notice it because it is not as nice as half the cars on here

Last week while riding my bike home from work in good ole Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada (E31 is undergoing a renovation so I'm on the bike), and a silvery blue J-spec 850 with Alpina rims cruised by and it was looking hot. It recently sold and I knew the previous owner of this car but have not had the pleasure of meetings it's new master. If you're out there, drop me a line and we can meet up.

I believe I saw Koizumi today at 2pm turning off of Madison onto Washington in Culver City. I was on my motorcycle and just got a quick glimpse of a black 8 series with alpina wheels. Nice Car!

About a mile from my home is small shop named Charlotte Star Service that specializes in Mercedes, BMW and Volvo. I had noticed it a few times so I thought I would drop in to "show of" my 850i and introduce myself. A very nice fellow/mechanic greeted me, Mr. David Poole. I said I had an 850i and I looked over in the next bay and there was a red 850i on the rack. I was surprised to say the least as I had been wondering if there were any others in the Charlotte area. He chuckled a bit at my look of incredulity because there was another customer there who he said he had just told him about how rare the 8 series is!
Mr. Poole was very nice and he lifted the car up so I could look underneath. I gave him my contact information and asked him to pass that along to his customer and also the web site address of this forum and 8coupe.com. He repeated the same line that other BMW mechanics I have talked to about the difficulty of finding parts. He also gave me the name of another mechanic who works on V12's, In Stallings NC. A coincidence like that is interesting especially because it was also a manual 6spd like mine!

After a full week in CA I saw my first 8 series! Anyone here? I was driving on the I-10 leaving Venice beach Thursday afternoon heading east around 3:20 ish...ofcourse in traffic when I spoted a silver 840 with some Alpina's and rear CSi difuser...i can only assume it had the full CSi kit but I didn't look. I was driving along side on my rental...a white Ford Escape...I honked and my passinger gave you a thumbs up. Last I saw the 8 got out on one of the exits leading downtown.

Rare sighting of two 8-series side-by-side at an office building parking lot in Santa Clara, CA on the corner of Stevens Creek & Albany today. One was white and the other was black.
