I got my Turbonetics turbo manifold. Im wondering should i spend $120 + shipping and wait a week or should i just put on my manifold now?
What do you guys think?

By all means, what's another week?
Does the manifold have a wastegate flange? Actually, I'd like to check it out.

No it doesnt. You can check it out when i comes back. I does not look like the Cartech or AA manifold. I looks like individual runners that goes to one big T3 flange.
Sorry but its all packaged up right now. Cant take pics.
I'd also be interested in seeing these pics.
Is turbonetics producing this manifold or did they do a custom piece for you?
There is only one answer, send that bad boy off and have it coated, you will be glad you did..
Adam P
They make the manifold for the BMW. Its not custom. Will get pics up when i get it back from coating.
Do they make a dual 3-into-1 for a biturbo setup?
I dont know. You probably going to have to call them.
If you dont mind posting, how much do they want for the manifold?
I got mine for $612 from Fast Track, a dealer for Turbonetics
Guc32, did you get pics of the manifold?
Time is growing closer to pulling the trigger on some hardware

Yeah i gots pics. I need to load it on my comp.
Hey, when you get pictures, if you could also send them to me at bob.cat@comcast.net if you don't host them somewhere. I'd really like to take a look at that thing as well.Originally posted by guc32

EMC: Awesome, thanks for the pictures. Can you tell me how well the runners match to the head (M3)? Ever test fitted it on a BMW (pics?)? Would you be interested in selling it? Or at least letting me borrow it (I'll pay)? I'd like to see fitment. Let me know please... email: bob.cat@comcast.net
Thanks,
Boris
Sorry, in addition to that, do you have any pictures of it side by side with the AA manifold? What did you think of either? Can you tell me your oppinon please?
Thanks,
Boris
how would the wastegate mount on turbonetics manifold?
Since it's a T3, it assumes internal wastegate, although personally I'd do something to change that. This doesn't look like that great of a manifold, but it's certainly interesting.Originally posted by 2.5bimmer

I plan to remove some of the material inside the manifold, then machine a wastegate port superior to AA's in size on the outside of the manifold. It is very thick in some areas, and will make it easy to find a good surface to machine the wastegate port.
I had to machine the port on my AA manifold for my wastegate. My manifold did not have the wastegate port machined.
On the AA manifold in my garage right now, I plan to improve the wastegate port to eliminate boost creep that was seen in the past....at 15psi.
Right now, at 6psi, I don't have a bit of boost creep because of the port I machined.
I like the manifold at least as much as the AA manifold and it costs a lot less. The individual runners are the exact same port size as the AA manifold. If you don't have some extreme head work done, the runner ports don't need to be enlarged. As they are, they match the stock head ports very well. There are plenty of high HP cars running non ported AA manifolds.
The good thing about this manifold is that it pulls the turbo back from the motor mount a little bit more than the AA manifold, which allows more clearance for a large turbo like a TO4S 60-1 or T61. You won't have to use a billet motor mount in place of the rubber mount like I have.

When I was originally planning on doing a turbo setup, rather than the twin-screw for my 325, I was planning on using the turbonetics manifold.
The price was good, it was the right SIZE for the 2.5, since I was planning on using a T3 with a large compressor wheel, and nobody else really seemed to know about it!
Of course, I went a completely different direction, but it does not look like a bad manfold...

Have you been Screwed?
People forget that the AA manifold also uses a T3 flange. Just because its mitsubishi turbo instead of a Garrett, doesn't mean the flange changes.
Those 20G's that AA uses with the internal wastegate that is all blocked off add a little bit of unwanted mass and they are a pain in the ass to remove because of a lack of space. If your bolts get rusted in place, good luck getting one off.
I had my turbo and downpipe off within 20 minutes...of course, you shouldn't need to remove the turbo once its on the car.
